Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel hires ARM Exec for Internet of Things Group

Hot off the wire from Oregon Live:

http://www.oregonlive.com/silicon-forest/index.ssf/2016/11/intel_goes_outside_again_hirin.html

This is a smart move for Intel, but the new guy is still going to run into a wall when trying to get the Quark and smaller CPU roadmap fully engaged again. Also interesting that Doug Davis is actually not retiring.

ARM is IP licensing company that doesn't build anything, hire a clown from there to drive building real and profitable products in a cut throat and crazy evolving and over hyped new business?

Only a bigger clown could think this will be success. Of course throw lots of money and anyone who is greedy and with dead end career will come to intel, just look at all the new external executives all hit the wall flameouts at their last gig.

Smack lipstick on a 🐖 it is still a PIG!

He will find a product design cycle staggering staggering with inertia beyond belief in how slow and inefficient it is. He will find the true cost doing it on intel also staggering .

Murthy is a far easier job, cut and yell at people. Next level down has to deliver and his soldiers are all third class in IoT. First and second team all on sever and client.

This is like Delorean hiring a guy from Honda and expect him to save the company by turning out civics.

Interesting. First Intel owns ARM, throws ARM out with the bath water, and now the return of ARM? Intel has lost billions over this decision. When will shareholders start looking at this Board and Executive staff?

Current IoT chief Doug Davis had been set to retire at the end of the year, but the company said Tuesday he will instead run a new organization within Intel - an Automotive Driving Group.

Well that sounds like a dead-end street to me. Sorry for the pun. lol
