Thread regarding Atos layoffs

Layoffs and Job Cuts at Atos - Europe and US - multiple years

I've worked at Atos for more than 10 years. Keep in mind, almost every year there is a threat of layoffs at Atos - it's normal.

They are trying to move as many positions as possible off-shore - most of the functional support positions are moving as well.

The role will be transnational at Atos and the firm has no loyalty to employees.

At Atos, seniority means pretty much nothing nothing and the longer you are with the company the more likely it's your turn to be let go as you are compensated more.

They keep cutting costs big time and they will continue to keep training is at a minimum for years to come - so any training you need you'll have to figure out on your own - stay longer after hours and Atos will not compensate you for that.

Upper management is fairly detached - they do not understand what's going on in the tranches - support personnel is left to figure things on their own.

The Eviden spinoff was official on July 1st.
I was laid off June 30th from Eviden. It seems that it was a sweeping over-50 age event.
This was probably the worst company I've ever worked for in terms of executive leadership. The US is completely expendable, leadership wants it to generate revenue but they don't want any US leadership with experience or ingenuity.
All executive brains must reside in Europe or India.
The executive leadership is 'their own worst enemy' and all they do is play musical chairs never really getting a new mindset.
However, with the spinoff of Eviden, it does look like Nourdine Bihmane (CEO) may have been able to offload most of the dysfunction... Only time will tell!

As former mgmt I was told to start moving any position off shore (US). This included any supervisor or mgmt positions that by contract does not have to be onsite or US based. It a damn shame that they had profitable accounts that could easily support US workers. Non mgmt rarely get a raise while mgmt get 2 bonuses each year.. 15% to 30%. Instead of putting that money into the hands that actually drive the company, they choose to cut people yet keep the bonuses. Unless your position is a "key" role (by contract) , you are expendable. never think your job is safe here. This is where the gov't needs to step in... if a public trading company has a layoff then no Exec should got a bonus or golden parachute that year... end of story.
