Other than DuPont and Columbia SC, which other sites are closing down?

This decision was clearly just 'close all small offices' first and foremost -- then try to put things back together from the rubble afterwards.

Which, I get to an extent -- but for real, the reason these small offices were still open was because they were doing something critical and you couldn't easily relocate them.

I'm looking for intel to sell off 'intel security' in the next year or two -- as a lot of their big products are going to be significantly impacted by this decision. Support is going to go to sh--, morale will drop, and customers are going to be furious.

This is awful for morale. I wonder why they didn't figure this stuff in advance...

I just started working at Intel in September as a process engineer and am really thinking I'll jump ship in a couple years (if I make it past layoffs) to work for a company that actually gives a damn about its people...

Logic has been damned.

Some people on closing sites may be proposed a relocation pretty soon - however nobody knows their project survives as project cancellation is up to 60 days

Yeah, but will the list of closed sites also summarize site dispensation? 'Cause it varies widely. Dupont is getting 100% transfer offers -- in Columbia it's 25%. The other 75% will either be eliminated at once (ISP, VSP, Retire) or at site closure.

The irony is that the primary job in Columbia is server validation, and servers are one of the primary focus areas after the reorg. But the site population is < 500 so go it must -- logic be damned!

About 35 sites should already have received the message they are "impacted"

Yes all they are small, <500 heads

More will follow as Europe is still being reviewed

Pretty much every small location from what I've gathered.

There was a rumor posted earlier that had a list of sites -- I believe it was fairly accurate. Intel said they'd be releasing an official list after all of the sites have been talked to (monday is the last day for that) -- so expect an official list soon.
