Does anyone know when filing for California unemployment whether we should indicate that we were laid off from VMware or Broadcom. I assume Broadcom but the payroll remittances I have received through end of January are still branded VMware.
Double check on the unemployment insurance. Once you have been asked to leave a company, even if they are still paying you, you can start receiving unemployment.
Any way to negotiate for more severance? Have anyone out there done it successfully? If so, what tactics or methods did you employ in your negotiation?
You can apply for unemployment after the 60days period. You will get your severance after the 60 days in 1 full check.
I'm part of the 1st wave of layoffs starting at the HC in Irvine, my last day is Jan 29th. Others in my group have been offered up to 6 months to 18 months but will all be gone by the end of the 18 months. The package was u get 60 days of pay and then you get 4 weeks + 1 week per year that you work at Broadcom. Good luck to all
Has anyone received a release yet? I've been told I won't have a job DAY 1 but nothing in writing and no communication from HR on outplacement support/details on severance etc.
nothing yet, just curious
Did you read your letter or not receive one? Typically severance is paid 1) after a release is signed and 2) after the expiration of the WARN notice period (60 days). If you leave early, you still get severance but have to wait until the end of the period still. No other conditions.
