Seize the moment
You probably saw the news earlier today, Dell announced that they would acquire EMC for $67 billion. I wanted to take a quick moment to tell you why I suck.
First, let me give a little context. We bought Autonomy for 11 billion and have to write it down the following year. Then pay untold amount to lawyers to tell us we f&&ked up, and shortly after when the courts confirmed we f&&ked up, the guy who sold us the pile of shit is suing for 160 million.
Second the split with HPE and HPI with nearly 300,000 employees, which will WFR over 80,000 employee’s under my management. The split will be a massive undertaking and an enormous distraction for employees so we will be shuting down offices and selling off or shutting down software products that we bought thinking we could make money with.
Third, bringing two portfolios together will require a significant amount of product rationalization, so we will move jobs offshore, which will be disruptive to their business and create confusion for their customers. Customers will simply know the products support suck ass are buying shit from either company.
Fourth, I have a golden parachute so who gives a damn.
Yeah, the e-mail was the equivalent of Meg talling Dell "I hope you choke on EMC" after failing to make the deal herself (probably because she's moronically incompetent)
