@8982 I've been turned down 4 pkg. Mgmt implied if not happy, resign. Had lots o respect for QC b4 this. Mgmt took lesson How to convert supporter to detractor.
I haven't volunteered for the layoff but know people who have. The official line is that you need to speak to your HR and ER rep (who could be the same person), who will speak to your boss and BU/division manager about it. They make no guarantees but it seems that if you have dirt on the company (like proof of incompetence of HR/ER with respect to harassment or workplace issues) that is likely to get a good employment lawyer interested in pursuing a case, Qualcomm is likely going to let you go early AND pay you out (to keep silent). The last thing Qualcomm likely wants is a load of lawsuits, and the publicity that would cause. It's much cheaper to just pay you to be quiet.
Also have job lined up, with offer in hand. I am also curious about having to keep working for 2 more months. OP: Please provide more info.
Thinking about doing this too (new job already lined up). Do you have to keep working for two more months, or are they letting you leave with just two weeks notice? Also who do you email to get the process started?
No confirmations before 16th. Got your next job? Where?
