Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

It's starting

Just got off a conf call with our new sales VP for SP. Guys the layoff stuff is real. Axes will be falling later this week, and through January in bursts. Any quota carrying group that didn't make plan is going to be severely affected. One group in particular slated for more than 50% reduction.

I've been at J for 15 years and never had a beating like we just got from this guy. And to do this at the holidays. Get out while you can. I am looking. J is already dead.

MB reputation is well known within the networking community. His quirky personality, arrogance, and self-promotion is widely known. He also has an ethical issue when he has taken work from others and passes it off as his own. I'm constantly amazed at how he is able to get away with it. Maybe he does know how to play the game since he keeps on getting promoted regardless of his negative traits. It's anyone's guess what will happen within marketing next week. But his departure wouldn't make any difference - there are layers of folks that need to leave marketing who simply don't provide any value-add but are protected through an array of friendships and nepotism.

MB from Marketing, who has been vocal on here and got busted a few times doing his self promotion has tried to pass on blame to his peer, SB, who probably has never seen this site. MB is a worthless turd. He should be publicly humiliated as he is walked out of the office next week with his boss MM. These are the scumbags who have ruined a once great company. MB, you should have just just left this place alone when BRCM nor EXTR wanted you after BRCD got chopped up into little pieces. You are a piece of work.

Juniper has carried people for too long. If you don't make plan and are not working on account that needs 18 months then why shouldn't you get a kicking. Juniper needs a massive change in operation and needs to reorg to do it. I maybe one that gets the boot who knows but if I stay I will fight on as I like Juniper a lot and there is a lot of good people still trying to do there best.

That is too bad O-Poster. My hope is that through some miracle Juniper will have some epic changes in focus and direction and recover from this downhill spiral it is spinning in right now. It appears to be completely out if control.

Layoffs are inevitable, given poor sales numbers. I agree that it is really not the best way to start off in the new year. People have had it, specially with the level of unprofessionalism that is clearly evident inside Juniper, and we all see hints of it even in this forum.

What we have to do is to support one another regardless of surviving through this layoff, or affected by it. Let's all try to do that and avoid petty arguements. If you are from the Juniper management and or HR and don't have anything constructive to offer please leave the rest of use alone. Happy new year everyone.

Yes, #F2018. What a bad year for the J team. I can’t think of a worse year since 2009. We must have had 7 rounds of layoffs. Well here’s to hoping for a better 2019.
