Thread regarding Cox Automotive layoffs

Layoffs are just part of the standard yearly operating procedure

Layoffs at Cox Automotive happen so regularly that the automotive media has now stopped covering them... it’s not news anymore.

I agree with you 100%! I was so loyal to Cox for decades and went over and above. My job was just “eliminated” (not) and I’m laid off now. There are those that they kept that are taking up wasted air space and don’t care. Even they don’t know why they were saved! I gave them everything I had, but I know a lot has to do with relationship you have with your boss. So, those that were called back - don’t get too comfortable as nobody is safe from the chopping block!

It’s hilarious. You start a google search about Cox Automotive and the first auto fill option is “Cox Automotive lay-offs”...... #trending.

I will say as someone who wasn’t affected. This has done a big number on morale. The people that stayed are now looking at what happened over the last 5 months and 5 years and realizing the lines about cox cares and the reality about how they treat a lot of people don’t align. People are starting to realize and see the toxicity of the culture, and see the writing on the wall that they’re most likely next. I myself have already put plans in place to start my own business, or get my next step ready outside of Cox. I’ve been a loyal long tenured employee that used to do nothing but praise cox and their culture. Well, the chances of me retiring from this company which was my plan, are slim to none. So instead of caring and putting my heart and sole into my job, now I plan to do the absolute minimum I can to get by until I can walk away. Time to change the priority from being loyal to Cox, to be loyal to ME and only care about what benefits ME.
