Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

I'd rather have one major round

It would beat this ongoing cr-p where I can't relax for one single day. Why can't they just get it over with?

I agree - rip the band-aid. Like some of us I'm 50 plus so landing another job will not be easy. I've been a loyal hard-working teammate for over 10 years. Since Sept 11 I've cut costs as best I can and even cancelled upcomong vacation plans (just in case I need $$ for COBRA). I get that EL needs to start at the top and work down, but leaving us little people in limbo is a horrible way to treat employees who depend on their job.

We were told in our all hands meeting that the layoffs will go into the first quarter of next year.

They can’t do one round, who would do all the work? Remember VSRP….

How pleasant. If you survive they'll work you for a dog for two quarters and put you through the stress again. Wonderful, I feel my purpose is to give them the bare minimum. #oneteam

I heard that they're finished after October and resuming at the end of the first quarter.

That is incorrect. It’s 60 weeks max.

Nobody is getting almost a years worth of severance. The min is 8 weeks and max is 30 weeks per their severance guide.

Well I for one am not leaving, I’ve got 25 years in. I also seem to be one of the few left that enjoy my job and i have a great boss. I’ll get almost a year’s pay in severance so bring it on!

They do it slowly, increasing your work load gradually, once they have you doing four people's jobs. they're done. I'm not sure why people find it easier to stay rather than look for decent employment is beyond me!

Look for another job. Take your power back.

The reason it’s not feasible is NOT related to HR, it’s because one large occurrence would require EL to plan ahead. Advanced planning is clearly something they are not capable of. They move people to Charlotte one month only to lay them off 2 months later.

Don’t forget new leadership in many areas. If you were told you were safe or your area was safe, beware.

Totally understand but it’s just not feasible. HR would be totally overwhelmed for one thing. Imagine working in that department…all these layoffs…knowing when they’re done it’s time for your department.

It’s physically/organizationally impossible to cut that many people in one day with the company’s geographical and operational footprint
It was always going to take weeks

I agree with you wish it would done in one major round. It's very stressful walking around not knowing anything

Not going to happen. EL loves the constant fear and having the power. When SunTruist keeps failing they will keep laying off till it is no more.
