Of course their plan hasn't been "revolutionary". It's the same ol' more with less it's always been. You do more work with less resources while they hound you, and reap all the benefits. Only a su---r would attack a coworker for being resentful of this greedy dehumanizing corporation.

Railroad retirement is paid by many other RR’s so if you quit 1 railroad and go to another nothing changes. Every railroad is hiring right now, so it might be a good time to make a change.
I would love to leave UP. The problem is that railroad retirement has me trapped until retirement due to my survivor annuity. So in turn, I just take my time these days. I used to feel like part of a team getting a job done but due to my recent cut in wages and the worsening job conditions I really don’t feel motivated to make their plan work at all. I’m happy to report broken units. I used to fix them, but they took that away from me. Now I won’t go out of my way to make them go another mile. Let it all fail, that’s the only way the workers win. FUP!
@yzj I quit without giving notice, and I recommend that everybody who intends to quit do the same.
The way to quit any job is to take all of your vacation and then announce your resignation immediately the day you get back both to your boss and their boss. Do it in writing. Return all company property, get something in writing saying it’s returned, and you’re done. Make sure to hold onto payroll information just in case they mess with your final paycheck. Don’t sign anything they give to you.
Tell UP to go blow!
There are better jobs and unions!
At the terminal I was at, people are just done with it. Nobody cares anymore. They will do what they can with the time they have and walk away. No one is in a hurry to get anything done.
Just stop paying union dues everybody and the union will
jump to your feet fast
This is the main topic at my terminal. People are just plain fed up. Why do they come out with these surveys nothing ever changes. How can a company that profits so much not want to share the money. Everyone is being pushed to hard. When business picks up we’re in for a lot more misery due to the fact that people aren’t interested in working here and being treated like sc-m.
The pay here is not worth the time we give to them any longer. We haven’t had a decent raise in a long time, inflation is just starting to go up and our dollar no longer spends the same. Short on manpower, stuck on 12 hour shifts per PSR playbook and given more responsibilities without more pay. No one has ever said on there death bed “wish I would’ve spent more time at work”.
In the past I wouldn't have believed someone if they would have predicted so many people would quit UP bcuz the pay would no longer be worth the aggravation. Just had a co-worker quit after almost 20 years of senority. He purposely gave his 2 weeks notice in person. He was a good dependable employee (but he did stand up to his manager from time to time) I was shocked when the manager just told him to hand over his keys and get off the property. The manager didn't even ask him one question. That's bad management to not conduct an exit interview. That manager is not going to replace that ex employees skill set easily nor quickly. Yeah if the pay was worth the headache the employee would've stayed.
The Union can help with that. Or just stop paying dues.
Yeah, if you are someone with control over my salary reading this : I would be a lot more willing to put up with this sh-t if you paid me more. They say money doesn't buy you happiness but it does buy me. I would show up to work with a smile on my face and a song in my heart for a lot more money.
