Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Person who made this thread what did your hr source say? Did they not have a large layoff or are delaying it? You seemed pretty certain on your prediction so wondering if something changed.

All this place cares about is their money and screw their employees. I blame this horrible government for letting USA jobs go to Ireland. That is just wrong

Reply to @hhm+13JjCvT2 - It was 10/10/2018 was our last day. Also remember if your hired back later, when they lay you off again you only get 1 week per year since your return.

I was laid off 6/2/2019, just short of 9 years with UHC

Why are people laid off over a year ago still on this site? Makes no sense. Move on

Former communications specialist here. Was laid off officially as of May 1, 2019. I was in the middle of an adoption too. I was the top employee on my team. People who were frequently away from their desks were kept on and intelligent, hard working people were let go. It was random, no fairness. In hindsight, I wish I would have hired an attorney.

Sept 18, 2017 was when BPQM was hit massively. Was PD, E2E, A&G and ATA areas. Rough estimate was around 1k. Someone mentioned in the older threads that they had over 700 people on their benefits call. 10/02/17 was their last pay date, I'm assuming, as that was when I was transitioned as my manager was in that layoff.

6/3/2019 500 of us were let go

Confirmed 12/04/19 mass lay-off.

Get all your personal info, resume etc. off your computer. When you will be laid off next week you’ll be walked out the door or you will be told over the phone if you’re a telecommuter. It’s a horrible experience this company will burn in hell. They read from a script. Compassionate, isn’t that one of the core values.

They sent Appeals and Grievances and Claims to Ireland.

Thank you for all the dates of the prior layoffs in 2017, 2018 and 2019. I will wait for a few more days to confirm more lay-off dates. Then I will post an update with all the layoff dates since October 2017.

My husband was chopped on 2/6 so good luck to everyone in the next round. Save for a rainy day just in case.

I was laid off while I was on FMLA medical leave on Oct 2, 2019 along with 32 others in my department. Most of us had been working for Uhc for many years (16 years for me) and were telecommuters.

There is a special place hell for upper management and Dirk and Dave.

Confirmed layoffs happened in May 2019 and June 2019.

Confirmed Optum eliminated a lot of positions on 2/6.

The layoffs in December, 2017 was due to the fact UHG lost the Tricare Contract. Our Director made the announcement in January of 2017 and she left for BPQM and now she no longer works for the company.... just because you are in management doesn’t make you a leader! Karma!! Add December, 2017 to your list.

I wish the Media could hear about this. UHG makes me sick to my stomach.

10/2/19 : in E&I, 28 people were let go according to the job title and age list I received. Employees were in MN, CA, MD and remote locations.

Yes you will receive a lump sum severance based on your grade level and years of service the max is 26 weeks. In addition you you will receive two weeks of pay from the date that they lay you off. And you can apply for unemployment right away.

It can take anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks to receive her severance. I did receive mine within three weeks. I would advise as soon as you’re allowed to submit your severance submitted at 12:01 AM

I was in the Oct 30, 2017 UHC Layoff, shortly after Wichmann became CEO.

Many new job postings on internal site for jobs in Philippines and India.

Once I get all the confirmation dates of all layoffs from 2018 and 2019 I will create a new post on this site. @bnt...Do you happen to know the exact date of the October 2018 playoff?

There was a large layoff in October 2018 in BPQM. Seems everyone keeps forgetting that one.

To clarify my earlier post (Post ID: @sdy+13JjCvT2) the 78-80 impacted was just my department I'm not sure if other departments were also laid off that day

There was also a lay off on 08/01/2019 that impacted apparox 78-80 people and I know there were at least 1-2 layoffs prior to that date and I believe a layoff also occured in September 2019
