It was only after I left here that I realized how bad the atmosphere was in ADP. ADP is definitely best seen and endured from a distance. I guess people gradually get used to that management of fear and then they don’t even realize how much they actually suffer in such a company. They think it’s like that everywhere, and it’s not!
I can’t understand how they don’t realize that fear management is just counterproductive, because that way they can only get all the best people to leave.

OP - you are 100% right. I thought ADP was a decent company when I joined over 20 years ago, but I have to say, it has been a slow, steady, systematic decline ever since then. When I finally "got out" a few months ago, I could not believe how much better my stress levels were in my new job. A manager who actually cares that I succeed?? Co-workers who actually offer to help me get up to speed?? What black magic is this!?! Oh, I know exactly what it is... it is 20 years of thinking that ADP was the way the rest of the working world operated, instead of realizing that it is an aberration.
Carlos rules by fear. Carlos has taught his execs to rule by fear. It's like a fart in a closed windowed car where no one wants to say anything, but everyone knows it smells, and can't get out fast enough!
FEAR - is the new management plan. Hope you like it, because they are planning on doubling down this year.
ADP = "Always Dehumanize People", It's in the name!
This is entirely because ADP senior management employees are really not qualified to be in those positions. I mean anyone who really thinks Debbie Dyson is qualified other than as a quota based filler is out of their mind. Same goes for many in that regime. The "picks" they moved into SVP and VP roles are political spinners without any leadership skills nor people skills much less any real proven history of true productive work. Life is just miserable at ADP. I can say I would never work there ever again. Other companies treat people with respect and don't rule based on fear because they have crummy management. You will be better off almost anywhere else. ADP is just plain downright messed up.
I worked for ADP for more than 20 years. Fear based management was always used. They didn't seem to care that this tactic would drive many people away, and not only the best. The attitude was "if you can't stand the heat, then get the he** out!"
ADP considered it a high privilege for employees to work for it. When people would quit, ADP demonized them and it was unwise for the remaining employees to mention the "dearly departed" names. If you did, then you could see the rage build in many managers' eyes. Departed employees were considered traitors and turncoats who didn't have the interest or stamina to work for this illustrious company.
