I survived another LR - maybe that is not good thing.
I have been rotting for last 5 years at Cisco. Been here too long and have lost my skills as I became a PE.
We are just BS men with no value at a startup in the valley. Overpaid yet can’t live on less in real job
The grass is always greener on the other side.
The grass is always more expensive in Denver.
I voluntarily left Cisco after 10 years and got a 40% bump in comp, still have ESPP, bonus (2% more than my Cisco bonus), and finally have RSUs, which I didn’t get at Cisco. And I work from home 2-3 days a week.
I got sick of the layoff stress, buckled down and prepped hard and landed a new gig within three months.
If you’re no longer happy at Cisco, make it happen and leave!
Some people have families and a mortgage. Leaving Cisco can be difficult for those that have spent years in political roles.
@UFWApFU-sqx... I know I'm not forced to stay at cisco... all im saying is that cisco is so comfortable for me (collecting bonus, rs, and espp) that it is killing my career... I will continue to stay and collect money (who wouldn't?) but i know i will pay for it at the end once i get lo...

No-one is forcing you to stay at Cisco, if your not happy, grow a pair of balls and leave!!
I left 18 months ago, initially took a pay cut to join a company where I feel valued and respected...

I'm rotting to at cisco! But the annual bonus, RS and benefits is making it worthwhile... until I get LO then I'm going to be fk... I feel so sad that cisco has ruined my career... I'm going to be so irrelevant in high tech... uber driver is my next job.
