I’m considering joining Staples after a recent offer, working in Corporate. What’s it like to work there? How is leadership? Teamwork, etc.? What do you like and what is one thing you would change?

Fire SP and go back a publicly traded company. Private Equity firms are just what their name implies. They are only in it to line their own pockets. Just ask Aeropostale.
Run….as fast as you can!
Wow...you really came to the wrong place for an unbiased opinion. Most of these people have been let go or left on their own accord. Staples was bought by Sycamore, a private equity firm that has truly ra--d a once "ok" place to work...not great, but not bad either. Most still working in corporate hate it and are scared the big layoff is coming. Sycamore is positioning to sell this steaming disaster. If hired, it wont be for long...Staples wont see 2025...
If you are, by chance a management drone masquerading as a potential employee to gage employee sentiment, this is it...a very poorly managed company.
Staples downfall has been a combination of extremely poor leadership from the top down and the constant introduction of new strategies that never get executed. I.e) sycamores failed desire to quickly expand private label, Work bar, Pro time, distribution robotics, failed Competitor acquisitions, go big red….just to name a few!)
Good luck if you join this train wreck!
You can not be serious. You asked that type of question on this website and its a retail position.
Retail is a joke. Associates are the backbone and they quit in droves. Pay is so much lower than any other retail job. So if you're going to join Mike Motz in Corporate, remember the people in the field and you'll have trouble making your numbers. There will be no numbers just unfulfilled metrics. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else is better,
Run. Constant restructures and layoffs. Private equity ownership means little to no investment in the future. The budget is banking on everything (customers back into offices) this fall. If that doesn’t happen, which it won’t with the delta variant, more layoffs will happen by the end of the year.
It’s a good company before they chew you up and sp-t you out. The company goes through leadership and strategic changes just about as many times as you have to change a baby’s diaper.
