Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

Remember when you first got the job here?

In my case, that was a long time ago. I thought I would stay here until retirement but no.

I will be here for a few more days, I gave notice and now I'm summarizing my impressions.

A few years ago, I would never have thought that this company would be like this in 2021. Never. It used to be nice to work here.

When did it all go downhill?

Yes those were the days when we didn’t receive emails from people with these d-mb pronouns attached. Seriously, we have gone woke and everything has went downhill. I won’t be putting this on my email although everyone at the factory seems to think it makes sense!

I will be gone once they start pushing these vaccine mandates that i was in a meeting about. The only thing you have to look at is who are the majority shareholders for Emerson, and then you will realize why we’re being pushed in this direction. None of these people at the top of the org chart care about any of us and that has been proven. So many people I have spoken with are either leaving or looking to leave. Very sad to see what has happened to this once great company.

I’m right behind you. My reasons are almost exactly the same as yours. I found a new position with what I think it’s a more stable company. The first thing I did to research on this company is to look them up on “the layoff “website. I only found a few posts from 2014. Every two, three, four years Emerson goes through a cycle of hiring too many people, not being able to use all of them, then firing people on almost a whimsical basis. I will miss my coworkers, but not the management.

As soon as the background checks are done, I will give notice.

I witnessed many layoffs and at last I was laid off in the May of last year. The most deepest impression about Emerson is layoff. Even you're excellent, one day you will be laid off suddenly. My first supervisor was laid off at 55 years old. My second supervisor was laid off at 65 years old. Everyone will experienced layoff if he don't find another job and leave Emerson. The layoff culture is really bad.
