Need HR Overhaul

Having very bad experiences with a couple of external hires placed into wrong positions by management. I don’t have anything against external hires because I’m one myself. In one case the person got the promotion because he took credit for work of others (actually some of my work from what others have told me) and fabricated future business he will bring. In another case, the person got hired with a fabricated resume. (I know this because her former boss from the previous company.) It is also obvious that neither of these individuals are capable of performing many of their assigned duties. I and others have been supporting but it’s getting ridiculous. It feels like the dock hands are now navigating the ship and it’s running into an iceberg. Clueless managers and total lack of HR. I don’t think it will do any good to rat these individuals out now and I’m not that kind of person.

I think these problem could have been avoided if job openings are posted transparently and made available to all internal applicants. If they can’t find an internal candidate, then look external. Jobs and roles should not be filled or created in secrecy.

These PIP-offs could have been avoided if the company does a better job of placing the most qualified people into open positions. People are happier too if they think they can have a fair shot and in control of their own careers.

HR unfortunately has no power in any of those situations, so it’s just about 100% due to bad management
