Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Let this be a lesson

Always use your vacation and sick time.

Never stay at a company too long, loyalty doesn’t mean sh-t in the corporate world, even when you’re performing with a boss always telling you you’re doing a good job.

Never lose sleep or time with family because of a job. You and your family care about you, a company like Dell only cares about itself without any loyalty.

I hope we all make it out on the other side with decent jobs, but for now just enjoy the time away from the toxic Dell environment.

Dell is not a 'great place to work', count yourself lucky if you got yourself a package and you can now focus on what is ahead of you in your life (which you can control).

For the people left at Dell, i dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing, as you will all be forced to continue to work in this matter with HIGHER numbers, less people and resources to help you and as the saying goes 'doing more with less'.

The less is more of a life outside of dell, less time with your family, less times you will be smiling everyday and overall less quality of life!

I have actually started to hate logging on every single day the last number of months.
This is pretty much down to ever increasing micro management and huge targets quartet on quarter.
While I have just managed to hit KPI's the pressure has been massive and really not worth it so I couldnt agree more with this post.
My personal life has taken a hit but I have started to not care about Dell and found a huge weight lifted from my shoulders and life has improved.
Best of luck to anyone that has been picked and to those that are not dont let them break you.

Spot on. I haven't used vacation time and prioritized job too many times over family. Never had PIP and always top performer. 1x1 received a few mins ago.

I will remember to prioritize my family in the future. Lesson learned the hard way.
