Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

This company is embarrassing to work for.

Getting laid off now seems merciful. Just give me a buyout when it happens.

UP is too busy being woke, to fix any issue with the company

Yeah they all think they’re God’s gift to the railroad until they get fired. Ask some of the regional VP’s how much the company missed them after they were gone.

UP can’t even fill the open intern positions.

Everyone's job changes? Really? I can think of many people who had the same job for over 40 years and retired. Their jobs never changed. It's pretty hard to move to another craft when the company walks you out too. I was never asked to go to another craft. If you have a problem with this board, then YOU need to go somewhere else.

Nobody is on here talking tough. If you don't like your job quit. Plain and simple. Everyone's job changes. When I hired on you still had head & rear brakemen. Communication people hooked up thr antenna connectors on loco radios & electrician hooked up the power cable on the radios. But, times have changed and duties evolve. If you don't think you are qualified to do another craft's job when you are asked to do that. Speak up and say so. Maybe eventually some of those craft's will get called back. Until then quit crying, do your assigned job, earn your paycheck & go home safe in one piece.

These guys all talk tough but when they get fired they sue the company too lmao. So just shut up and play with your toy trains and stop coming on here if you don’t want to hear negative comments about UP

Dude. It's not the same company as when I hired on. I didn't hire on to a greedy abusive dump. I hired onto a railroad. This isn't railroading. This is make your employees do the work of everyone we've laid off so we can pocket their former earnings.

If it's so f..k..g bad then just quit and get another job. Stop whining. You evidently wanted to work here or you would not have applied. Oh I forgot you don't want to work anywhere else. You enjoy the benefits & your paycheck. Quit trying to be a martyr. Just do the job you were hired to do. You are an " at will " employee. Bye bye for now.

No more buyouts? Cool. Let the lawsuits begin! Sue them like the fired executives do and get a settlement

The funny part for me was when my current employer asked if it was as bad as he had read and heard about. I didn't give much info, nor did I have to. I wanted to ask him how he found his information. So getting laid off, getting fired, or just not applying to this company probably helps the resume look better. Good luck to anyone that is still there.

You can forget a buyout, those are long gone. Why buy you out when they can just cut you off? Fritz has said there will be no more buyouts which is about par for the course with this company.
