Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

The plan is to exit retail completely?

Someone made an interesting remark, that it is impossible that the leaders are so incompetent but instead it is more likely that their plan is to get out of the retail completely. That is a much more logical explanation. I have a growing feeling that I am just wasting my time in this company.

Verizon is slowly changing their Retail and B2B sales to Indirect. If you don't see it then stay in Retail until it's too late.

you are wasting time. All Verizon care's about is money. I'm only saying this to help you, don't stop looking for another job. I worked in some higher up positions and had some visibility on how bad things were. It's only about numbers, and their employees simply generate necessary numbers.

Not only are we getting seasonal employees who are from a temp agency( not verizon employees) their survey scores are going to effect our commission checks.

If we quit or find new employment they do not have to worry about severance or unemployment benefits. I don’t think they are trying to force us to this but if we go willingly it’s a win/win.

Have no idea what the he-l they are doing in retail we are hiring people with zero work experience and also getting in temp employees from a staffing/labor temp service for the holidays. Hope those temps don't generate surveys; however if they don't they are getting all the sales and sh-t customers. This year Black Friday my first customer I'm going to bust the transaction up so hard that I have to spend the shift fixing it then go home and eat turkey. #oneteam

You give up retail, you lose market share and customers.
