Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

What Boeing Should Do

What Boeing should do is cancel the MAX entirely and start the NMA design right now
They should try to convert as many MAX contracts over to the NMA, it won't be perfect but the airlines would appreciate getting time to recover
Then Boeing could focus on a new design that will be much safer. They won't have to worry about patching malfunctioning software. I think its been 4 patches since January
Think about it what would happen if the MAX crashes again? It would be worse than this and this has been a nightmare
Not only that, but even if the MAX finally becomes a safe plane (doubtful) its not what airlines want anymore. Demand is already changing they want something more like the 321 XLR which has better range, more seating and is more efficient. The MAX's advantages are all gone pilots need new simulator training now and not needing it was the main cost cutting selling point
And yes Boeing would have to lay off many people. Its unfortunate but itd be necessary. There's going to be layoffs anyways with the demand so low
Boeing needs to get its act together. What they don't understand is arrogance breeds complacently and if they don't step back and see the situation for what it is then its future will be in jeopardy. In fact it already is

Something to do with all those MAX airplanes that will never fly again.

Boeing will do whatever the hell they want.

More important to us union workers is to either give the union a choice of growing a bigger set of balls the next time contract negotiations arise, or we vote them out for someone who can do for us like other unions do for their members.

Perfect case is the PUD’S lineworkers Union IBEW 77. They work a hell of a lot closer with the PUD and just voted in a pay raise of 10%. There’s no way that would happen for us but when a union is a lot tougher, garners a lot more respect from both its members and the company its members work for...sh– gets done. They even pay more in dues than us and are completely fine with it because they get results.

There’ll never be a perfect world scenario for us, but we can do better one way or another.

We can’t even get a decent amount of our members out to vote. But they sure can b–ch and complain about the results and how unfair it all is. We laugh and make fun of our union. And so do unions outside of Boeing.

B–ch b–ch all we want and it’ll get us right here on this site writing and complaining and nothing will change.

There’s alotta good ideas and alotta good people out there who could motivate people to care. But people are stuck in their own little worlds and don’t see the bigger picture or into the future to see we can do better.

I love my job. I need my job. I care for my coworkers and want them to care. I try to help out when I can with anything they need. I don’t ask for anything in return. Except to make a difference.

Do something or shut the hell up and stay in the corner.

Good Lord, have some more Boeing Kool-aid, the MAX is a tired unsafe cob job based on a played out 50 year old design. The MAX is unsafe at any altitude. Just unbelievable that there are still such naive Boeing ostriches with their heads buried in the sand

  • The Max Is The Best Rollercoaster Aircraft

Say what you will about Boeing. We still build the best.
The Max is the strongest most durable single aisle aircraft in its class
To see that aircraft take flight, to see it soar into the ski is pure delight.
The acrobatic feats are breathtaking it’s nearly vertical at takeoff.
The Max is one of the best flying aircraft in the world and better yet it is one of
The most spectacularly crashing aircraft in the world, the strength of the Max
shines in this regime of flight a true acrobatic feat. The depth of those smoldering
pits can’t be beat, try that with an A320. Their so computerized they always want
To belly flop, you can’t get an A320 to Nose dive into the ground like you can
A Max.

Then there’s the reduced coats of cleanup. The A320 leaves a large debris field
While the Max is a single deep pit contains all of the debris and victims, yes you
need an excavator but it’s all in one place, no need for a search party and their
No medical bills to Follow up with, as there no pesky survivors,
it’s a onetime payment
