Most of temps don't really perform and keep sucking milk from Qualcomm, HR add ALL temps to this coming layoff cycle on Dec. 16th. Don't know why Qualcomm keep them for a year? If they are so good why we don't hire them? They suck!!

Volt, manpower, Robert half, legal staff, but now temp job ads are showing up on Craigslist but not on QC careers website.
Is volt the only company supplying temps now ?
My understanding is that a lot of the temps have had their contracts shortened to correspond with one of the layoff dates.
I have more temps than FTE's in my group, and the temps work out well. If I had to pick people to cut it would be mostly FTE's. Without temps the work couldn't get done.
Would I want to replace my temps with FTE's being cut from other divisions? Not a chance in hell.
If roll in every temp I have if I could, but for the past year or two I'm only allowed to roll in temps here on visas.
@ xbf: A lot of the people laid off were Sr. Engineers and above. I doubt that many people making well over $100,000 per year as engineers plus benefits included are going to work for the $35 per hour a lot of these leasing companies are offering.
You're being silly. Temps are needed because there is lot of extra work from the people dismissed on November 20th. In fact many people who were let go are being hired back as temps.
The only way all temps get let go is I'd a ton of projects get cut which could but has not occurred.
Mmh, Dec 16th is a Wednesday which is the typical day to get the pinkies but still does not make sense. Next time you are trolling choose an earnings date for more credibility
Dec. 16th is the next Layoff cycle, this information has not been disclosed and layoff will not be announced.

Qualcomm obviously doesn't care. They provide a list of qualifications they want to an employee leasing agency and the leasing agency provides bodies with the requisite education, and possibly work experience. But no one really vets the skill set. As a matter of fact, during my job search, I've had leasing agencies say: "Don't worry about meeting the qualifications--we can get you in!" for jobs which I personally felt that I wasn't qualified for! The leasing agencies fill the slots with warm bodies. Since they can fire you after 30 days, you either learn on the job or get fired. So yeah, if they are as good at learning the QCOM politics as the people who are already there, the people who hate playing the QCOM political games and are good engineers are screwed. Sal si pueda.
Why Dec 16th? they usually announce layoffs during earnings ...
