Data! LOL. Ford has had for decades and has no idea whatsoever on how to use it. Those that are capable of monetizing data left, were forced out or SIRPd. The id--t from Renault and the fake in charge of Ford X had plenty of time ( and Ford's money ) to launch new business and have failed. Ford Smart Mobility under Hackett and Rao also HUUUUGEE fails. Billions wasted on Argo. MCS more wasted money. No wonder the stock is a mess. Employee morale is an all time low. RTO is unorganized and an excuse to get people on PEP. Lawler, DF, JB are all acting twitchy knowing heads either will be chopped or theirs will be rolling. How longer will this continue? Bill, you had the courage to right the wrong before. I don’t think the company can be saved. It’s too far gone, every vehicle now is some overpriced niche; scale is the last thing they have on their mind. They claim complexity reduction with these platform families, but only underpin 1-2 top hats, way less than when the platform was at PA. I have a feeling EVs will be just as bad if not worse because the demand just isn’t going to be there. Just look back and reflect when times were good; all that is really left. This new Mustang is kind of like someone on their deathbed, harkening back to times of yesterday, but that too will continue to decline in sales because the pricing is not even close to being aligned to someone looking for something like that.
There might be one person who could pull off a recovery but he is stuck in Lebanon after his dog and pony show at Nissan. What would Carlos do? Maybe he can work from home!
Of course the stock is dropping. Why wouldn't it; plenty of recalls, horrific quality issues, everyone knows the EV talk is mostly bs, planned elimination of older pension eligible employees, Farley's lousy reputation and inability to communicate a clear plan. The big question is how long before so-called leaders are held accountable. Ford Next is a huge mess for starters. FLV and his directors, especially the id--t from HP have produced nothing thats profitable. Ford Pro hasn't shown much and all the programs are a mess. Suppliers run. Design has no credibility, the directors don't support another outsider, this one brought in from Renault ( what a joke!! ). RTO is another joke, offices, labs, studios are empty with everyone keeping their heads down in fear of being PEP'd. Sooner or later, greedy Ford family will do as they've done time and time before and once again clean house starting with Farlely. It's pathetic, Ford will have gone through 3 CEOs in less than a decade. Yep, that builds investor confidence. Terminate all the fakes and get back to Ford's core - we are and will always be a manufacturing company. NOT a tech company and surely NOT a data and subscription bs company. And PLEASE, stop with all the design thinking bs, we didnt have HMW cr-p when we developed the best truck and SUVs on the market, and we dont need it to move forward.
Not having a car in the lineup has been a great move with high gas prices and a recession. Let's focus EV efforts on a F150. Management is a bunch of marketing geniuses.
