Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

UHG has turned into a joke

As one layoff round is done, the next one is in the planning. There is never a break or reprieve. Working under these conditions has become unbearable. I've come to hate my job.

It's like a perverse lottery, where the "winners" get to leave and escape the toxic environment, while the rest are left to wait for the next round.

The worst part is the waiting. It's a slow, agonizing torture.

It's a strange feeling to root for your own termination. But after months of living in this state of constant fear, being laid off starts to feel like a twisted kind of liberation.

The irony is that the company's actions have created a workforce that is desperate to leave. Morale is at an all-time low, and productivity is suffering as a result. People are just going through the motions, waiting for the axe to fall.

The waiting game is the worst part. It's like being trapped in a purgatory of uncertainty, where the only escape is to be laid off. It's a sad reality, but it's the truth. I just want this to be over.

One layoff round? I was laid off from C & S last August? I later figured out most of the people I worked with in Payment Integrity for 8+ years were let go a few months after me. I guess UHC has no more Integrity as they can get an earnings release out in 2 weeks for investors but shove offshore contractors to do their severance packages.
Optum has had rolling layoffs for years, as I witnessed working with some IT guys in my building when I went into the office. You won't hear about layoffs in any of the town halls though or Sir Witty's fireside chats.

Do they pay for unemployment? Took a position and rework from first pass and I won’t last long here. I asked to go back to my old job and jokes on me they won’t let me and I hate what I’m doing.

When is the next one planned? Haven't heard anything else for home and community. We lost a bunch of former Landmark and Prospero folks.

All healthcare companies are downsizing under the current conditions. The only ones staffing up are start ups flush with initial funding. Going there will buy you more time however none are exempt.

Are they doing more layoffs with the news of virtual care shutting down?
