AiP online is accredited through Ai Pittsburgh which is Middle States accredited

There is much more to the 'show cause' than proving gainful employment

Online has a 9% graduation rate- for those of you who s--- at math.

One of the primary reasons for "show cause" is gainful employment.

DeVos may end up decimating it on a federal level but most rigorous accrediting bodies like Middle States actually like it. Possibly also graduation rates.

Each school and program is going to have to prove to Middle States that it can adequately prepare students for careers after graduation. Remember, Ai is NOT non-profit so gainful employment is still a federal requirement (as of today... tomorrow that might change, thanks DeVos)

The Art Institutes takes great pride in helping students prepare to enter their chosen careers. We take seriously our mission of providing students with the opportunity to pursue their dreams and are committed to offering an engaging learning environment.

Late last week, we were notified that the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the accrediting body of The Art Institute of Philadelphia and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh (including its online programs), has placed these institutions on "show cause" status.

To be clear, these locations remain accredited. Show cause requires these institutions to demonstrate how they can continue to meet the Middle States Commission on Higher Education's standards of accreditation via a written report and an on-site evaluation visit.

During this time, Ai Philadelphia and Ai Pittsburgh remain accredited, students remain eligible for Title IV funding, and students are not required to take any action.

We wanted to share this information as soon as we were made aware. We are already working closely with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education to answer their questions and provide the required information and data. Additionally, we are in the process of notifying students at these locations via email. We will also be conducting upcoming in-person meetings with the campus community.

We will keep you apprised of our progress. Until that time, we ask that everyone remain focused on what we all do best - providing high-quality service and education to students.

Running schools without accreditation is a criminal act is the same light as Trump University,what's wrong with this company?

Admin at Pittsburgh issued an email today to faculty and staff regarding accreditation issues.

Middle States has no information on Ai Online as far as accreditation is concerned, is there proof that Ai Online is accredited?

@kmc do you really think DCEH is doing anything frantically, especially as it relates to important communication?

Not sure how long you have been there but their communication is akin to a two year old crying because they sh-- their pants.

50% lower than- what's that again?

Oh, that's right.

50% lower than practically zilch.

We have not heard a word about DCEH “working frantically” on anything.

AiO 50% retention rate of AiP? Could be because it also has 500% more students. That and many AiO students can’t operate a computer or read, but that’s on recruiting.

DCEH and Ai Pittsburgh leadership are frantically trying to figure out how to keep accreditation.

Bad news is Online has a retention rate %50 lower than ground campuses. So let's funnel all the "cease enrollment" (teach out) school students to a Online offering that can't keep students.
