Post ID: @vv+1jhwsyqp1 Although most financial services companies are more transparent than $hittybank, All employers forbid and do Not want their employees to disclose their own salaries and bonuses with each other because employers do Not want us to compare Notes.
Can you imagine the protests, riots, arguments and bad blood/friction between employees because Employee A is making less than Employee B, but works harder, produces better work product and longer hours, and many other reasons???

However, we should (at least in secret via phone and email outside of $hittybank) because doing so may finally be the impetus to convince financial services employees to UNIONIZE. There's power in numbers and Unions protect not only the collective, but also individual employees.
Look at all of the industries that have Unions (manufacturing, automotive, education, etc.). It's so difficult (can be a long years long process) and sometimes impossible to Fire even problem employees the Union itself would rather see Fired, but the Union is legally obligated to defend and/or provide legal counsel/lawyers for the offending employees.

(Based on your post: There are set bonus pool percentages based on level and rating. Ask. What the $hittybank recruiters promise in pay doesn't pan out because of the leadership of those controlling the money allocation move the money to their pals/themselves. Every company I ever worked with had bonus % published. Then you are full aware what your boss thinks about you....Contrary to $hittybank)

using a quote here "Yes. You are Not alone. Others have posted that they were Rated 2s or even 1s and were given the same bonus as 3s. Ratings are arbitrary Bull$hit. "

The issue is (from my experience) lack of transparency. There are set bonus pool % based on level and rating. Ask. We should all be informed.

HR/and senior leadership should address this issue. What the recruiters promise in pay doesn't pan out because of the leadership of those controlling the money allocation move the money to their pals/themselves.

Citi will never get out its own way until it adheres to common ethical practices. Every company I ever worked with had bonus % published. Then you are full aware what your boss thinks about you.

Post ID: @se+1jhwsyqp1 Malcontents breed Trojan Horses in TroyCiti. TroyCiti will be a small footnote in history.
Citi HR has such a bad reputation both internally and externally (Incompetent, useless, replaceable by AI or M0nkeys for that matter, oblivious, couldn't find a real job even with a University/College Degree and so got stuck in HR, etc.) . There are so many threads about how bad Citi HR is. Enjoy going down with TroyCiti. ROTFLMFAO!

Poor you. Haven’t figured out that 3/3 is the sweet spot for most. Much less aggravation, better mental health and rest and recreation. Look if you are busting a-s in a non customer facing role don’t expect it will garner you a significant raise or bonus. You all should have been aware of this when joining. Busting a-s MAY better your chance at promotion and hence higher compensation but at an unacceptable trade off for work/life balance. I have managed many a promotion (usually by moving to another company) and done well financially despite that focus.

So quit whining and get another job if you’re so put out. But your attitude needs adjustment, if you go out on interviews that stuff is going to shine through and no one likes a malcontent.

Respectfully…

Post ID: @rd+1jhwsyqp1 Yes. You are Not alone. Others have posted that they were Rated 2s or even 1s and were given the same bonus as 3s. Ratings are arbitrary Bull$hit.

So why bother to go above and beyond the call of duty, work harder or longer hours if you'll Still get a Low Fvcken Bonus???

Stated another way, why study to get 90 to 100 (A, A- Grades) on an Exam if you'll still only get a C-Grade??? Typical penurious, mendicant, LYING $hittybank.

And then in the same breath, on All of their PowerPoints during Townhall meetings and other Bull$hit Lies meetings, $hittybank claims to hold Talent "Management" as a priority. Orwellian 1984 Corporate Doublespeak. When $hittybank pays Dog$hit and Peanuts, $hittybank gets the bare minimum effort and work from its employees.

This is a vicious cycle where employees, because they're Not being paid their worth or as well as in other Financial Institutions, are Not providing $hittybank with competitive advantage solutions and work so that $hittybank can at least be on par with its envied Competitors.

I started in June 2023, and was told my target bonus beforehand - let’s say it was $12K. Because I only started midway through the year, I got $6K, about what I expected.
Last week, even though my rating and write up were both strong (basically a high 3), I was told my bonus would be $6K again!! Even though I’d worked a full year. Has anyone else faced a cut of this magnitude? It makes no sense, even my boss (a director) seemed confused.

My bonus dropped a little bit this year. Raise was the typical 2.5% increase. I am not happy with it.

Post ID: @kw+1jhwsyqp1 You're probably Not even a $hittybank employee else you would know the answers to your questions. But just in case you're just Citidense and another of Citi's Low Caliber employees:

Bonus is generally based on your Rating and is calculated based on a percentage of your base salary: 10% bonus x $100k base salary = $10,000

A Flat Bonus means you received the same amount as last year: $10,000 for Year 2023 = $10,000 for Year 2024.

Yes Bonus can be reduced Even if you received the same Rating as last year.
$hittybank Most Definitely FVCKED OVER Most Employees AND Reduced Bonuses Even if Employees were Rated the Same or Higher as Last Year.

Just read the posts and comments on www.thelayoff.com and other Sites There's demoralization, disincentive, hurt, insulted, anger and resentment feelings and even Lower Morale (it's Negative Infinity Now because Morale was already Very Low) amongst Most 99% of the Employees.

How is bonus calculated? What is meant by a flat bonus and can it be reduced from last year If your rating is the same as previous year?

Post ID: @ke+1jhwsyqp1 Your and other employees' situations sow the seeds for Anger, resentment, malcontent, even Lower morale, disincentive and demotivation by $hittybank.

The underpinnings and foundation of Trojan Horses further bringing down TroyCiti.

No, the incentive was a joke! Lateral move was not reflected at all, salary adjustment after sucessfully applying for a higher grade was not reflected in the year-end comp (salary increase)

I'm happy with my overall comp. But I'm a bit disappointed in the raise and bonus I got this year. I had hoped it would be more, given my performance ratings. But given Citi's financial situation, not surprised.

All I am going to say is no. I'm not happy with my comp or bonus. No i did not get an average rating either or a bad one. Ratings mean nothing it's all just a stupid game of thrones that conceited managers play to line their own pockets. I'd do your work, take as many breaks as the other workers, realize this place is toxic, only attend meeting & webinars that are mandatory, and don't let them F-up your health/life.

if you decide to look elsewhere or not stop being their doormat. Just treat it as a job these people do not care about you it's just about the needs of the business. They sc--w up and create more work, fines, etc. Either they are d-mb or trying to make the bank go down the drain bc I have never in my many years seen this level of incompetence.

Don't do extra hours or night work, no accepting new projects if you can help it because they will heap on more stuff to keep from hiring people so they get big fat raises and bonuses. Stop or minimize purchasing in the food courts---bring your lunch & soda. Kick employee networks and groups to the curb. Those people only run those networks or groups to look good and get promoted. Look at all the SVP Chief of Staff (sorry not qualified in tech or anywhere else) who are now magically Directors. Only at this dysfunctional bank.
