It's super political in my gorup, the higher up you go, it gets uglier - you spend so much time navigating minefields - backstabbing, stonewalling, etc...
We are completely forgetting who the customer is and what the customer wants - it's all about survival... If you are over 40, it's not easy to survive...
Have I mentioned that we are underpaid? I do not mind if they let me go, I've survived so far and will make it through today but I do not plan to stick around much longer...

Welcome to the real world. There is a global recession, or haven't you noticed. Only the fittest will survive. In my opinion Pro Tools has artificially held the top spot for way too long, it always was far behind Nuendo, but it didn't matter because it was endorsed by the "professionals" Where are the professionals now? very few pro studios exist and boutique and even home studios can out compete them. Exit Pro Tools.

Agree with @cqd - it's very tense in my group, anxiety, fear and i-do-not-care-any-more attitude
I'm very nervous that my department may be the next one on the chopping block. I truly don't understand what the management's criteria is for letting people go. It seems pretty random. Some people with a lot of seniority (higher pay) are laid off and also some brilliant younger employees who probably don't make as much. I don't know what to make of it. This is not the first round of layoffs at Avid, but it hits home closer for sure.
