Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Any opinions: CEO most absurd comment in all hands?

CEO said we are not in the business of selling diodes, we are a technology company - we make breakthrough technologies that no one else can...

Of course that's why QCOM stock is down more than ~35% in the last four years, and the so called "diode making" companies are up more than ~150% in the same time.

This makes me believe investors are really stupid investing money in his smart "technology" company which BTW guarantees to loose money (based on history) rather than investing in "diode" companies?
