Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Will there be more layoffs?

I am worried about losing my job right before the holidays. I have heard rumors that landmark is going to shut down completely by end of 2024 and we will all be out of jobs?

Based on the meeting they held all of it alluded to the fact that they are using us to do their dirty work to call lower acute Acuity patients and letting them go when that job is done they will definitely last off and close the program down this is the cruel corporate profit world of United Healthcare do your research make sure you are okay and possibly start a job search it doesn't matter if you are social work nursing case management nurse practitioner manager they do not care they will give you the boot and do it quickly with no remorse they will send you a meeting invite for 15 minutes and during that meeting they will fire you there is another round coming in September and possibly December I do not know if this will exist after January 1st

Optum has done layoffs nearly every quarter for years (even though some folks blame Change, it was happening long before then!), and unfortunately they’ll continue to do it. Don’t spend all your time fearing it though, life is too short.

My RIF was in a November. There is no loyalty to you as an employee. Remember HR is not your friend or advocate, they are there to protect the company not you. If you have some time in the company, wait for the severance. There isn't a shortage of jobs out there for providers. If you have longevity and moved up the in salary range, you are at risk. Many if not most involved in my RIF were at 20 years or more. The projected culture is a lie. Trust no one.

Next layoff will start when the last layoff finishes. We suffer more in imagination than reality. Unfortunately this is the way.

Landmark will be phased away by end of 2024, why did they even buy it?!! Wonder what Wanda Bryant will do/say?

Home and Community IESNP is on a slow death thanks to Kim Pratt VP and their DCO Sue Miller. They stopped selling in May except in 4 states that existed before the national toll out.

A Witty praised home based care visits this week home based visits defending them, means Housecalls is ok.

Change is shrinking, many contracts and users are going elsewhere.

Navi Health lost tons of contracts and shrinking

Home infusion is in trouble and lost tons of staff who jumped ship in late 2023.

Kristy Duffy was basically forced out and same with Scott Thiesen.

A couple years ago we had one of the IT analysts laid off while he was in the hospital having surgery, right before the holidays. Management couldn’t stop it. Not one of Optum’s best moments.

I thought they planned to wrap up Landmark by August 8th?

They have layoffs every 3 months! Be proactive and start your search! They do not care if Christmas is tomorrow, layoff will happen!

You must be extremely new. Optum has been having layoffs like every 3 months. Obviously there will always be more layoffs.

Know your worth and start proactively searching for a position away from a company that only cares about its billion dollar profits and shareholders.

Landmark person here, we were told that as of January 1, there would be no more Landmark. That was from an executive director. Today, despite having some of best metrics in the country, they "dissolved" our metro. All nurse practitioners, social work and case management gone. There are less than five of us now to "wind down the metro" then we will be evaluated to see if there are other jobs we can transfer to.

Can happen anytime, they don't care if it's the holidays or not. They laid off our manager last year the week before Thanksgiving. She was the best and they just let her go like garbage. This company has no loyalty to their employees and no one is ever safe. If you want to feel better about your job, start looking outside of this place. It's a dumpster fire. Sorry.
