Boeing Official Says He's Not Surprised Company's Starliner Spacecraft Got Astronauts Stranded in Space

Yes Stranding
It's been 75 days since NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore arrived at the International Space Station.

But while they were supposed to spend just eight days on board the orbital lab, technical difficulties plaguing their ride, Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, have delayed their return journey indefinitely.

And while NASA has insisted that the pair aren't "stranded," it seems pretty clear that they are, by any normal understanding of the term.

Boeing officials, who have been adamant that Starliner could return the two at any point, are equally defensive about the spacecraft, which has already left a multibillion-dollar hole in both the company and NASA's budget.

That's not to mention months of bad press, piled on top of Boeing's existing troubles with management and its global fleet of commercial jets.

Now, in an interview with the New York Times, Boeing Starliner program manager Mark Nappi says he's not surprised that the piece of sh-t spacecraft is stuck up there — and says he regrets not managing expectations up front.

"I think we all knew that it was going to go longer than that," he said. "We didn’t spend a lot of time talking about how much longer, but I think it’s my regret that we didn’t just say ‘We’re going to stay up there until we get everything done that we want to go do.'"

Weighing Risks
NASA has yet to announce a plan of how to get Williams and Wilmore back to the surface. The agency is considering two options: either risk their return inside Starliner or — in a deeply embarrassing turn for Boeing — make space for their return on board a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft early next year.

"It’s getting harder with the consumables we’re using, and the ports we’re using, those types of things," NASA associate administrator for space operations Ken Bowersox admitted during a teleconference call last week. "We're reaching a point where that last week in August, we really should be making a call."

The stakes are high: as some experts have suggested, if Starliner's hobbled propulsion system were to malfunction after undocking from the space station, it could spin out of control and even crash into the orbital lab.

We should expect word from NASA sometime this week. The agency has previously given itself until mid- to late August to come to a decision, so stay tuned.

It's quite obvious that incompetent monkeys are being led by foolish clowns at Boeing. Airplanes that crash, spacecraft that don't work, spacesuits that are oversized, etc. No innovation, no technical excellence, zero quality, and absolutely no safety anymore, so everything is junk and requires continual recalls and ongoing scrutiny and oversight. What's also embarrassing is they can't get it right the 2nd time or the 3rd time or maybe not even at all.

Will be interesting to see whether the Starliner burns up or crash lands on its uncrewed test flight back to Earth. Even if it goes smoothly, I still wouldn't want to be flying in the next scheduled Starlner mission.

The stranded Boeing Starliner astronauts have another problem
they might hitch a ride back to Earth on with SpaceX.
But Boeing spacesuits aren't compatible with SpaceX

Cause we are special and you are not Space X

The issue stemmed from NASA selecting two winning bids for the Commercial Crew Program, both Boeing and SpaceX.
The space agency did not specify that the IVA suits had to be
cross-compatible with other systems, because NASA is run by іnept іdiots

The hope was to keep the variety of options as broad as possible.
Apollo 13 ring a bell; these moгons never learn.
They say Never say Never, but you can’t fix stupіd, that we know.

The reason for the incompatibility between SpaceX’s and Boeing’s suits
is due to the nature of NASA’s Commercial Crew program,
which funded the development of both Boeing’s Starliner and
SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft.

But with Commercial Crew, NASA allowed its private partners to
“design and innovate as long as the companies met NASA’s broad requirements and safety standards, (Well that didn’t happen)
as well as reach specific milestones, one of which is a successful crewed
test flight,” Krishna explained. (Another swing and a miss)

NASA confirmed in a teleconference call that it is considering flying
Wilmore and Williams back without a suit as an incompatibility workaround.

A safer solution also on the table is to just fly two spacesuits up with the SpaceX Crew-9 mission, which would also feature two fewer passengers
to accommodate the stranded astronauts’ return in 2025.
Once Again, NASA in all their іdіotic glory,
simple is too simple for these for these sіmpletons.

I'm Surprised The Lived!!!
Survived the launch,
Survived the flight to the ISS
Survived the docking to the ISS, without taking-out the station.
and everyone onboard.

As if we needed someone to publicly make a statement on the obvious
forgone factual inevitability, as demonstrated in the first test flight.
And as seen all the way through the preparation of this launch,
during this launch and post launch, to docking with the ISS
until the present day.

A true clown show from the universe of Idіocracy that is Boeing and NASA.
Its criminal, they all belong in jail for fraud.
