Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

So we are having layoffs this week?

And from what I see and hear, it’s happening in more than one place.

Please get RID of all the lazy and no results VP's and director who hold positions in Student Engagement!!! Good for nothing and lazy narcissists! Go work as a barista or try selling used cars! Don't WORRY! You DAY is coming buddy boy or girl! I will have a great smile and a laugh when it does. Maybe you can cash out your penny stocks for a quarter so you can get some shiny toy from those vending machines!

I wish they dump off the 2U people first. A bunch of do nothing people.

Begging you all to spend your days applying to jobs, don’t waste a moment of effort on this sinking ship

2U literally ruined boot camps when they acquired Trilogy in 2019.

I would read between the lines with the statement, "We also committed to increased accountability for delivering against our plan’s objectives."

There is a high likelihood that severance won't be a topic in the next round, which is inevitable.

BC getting reorganized was long overdue. BC has been hemorrhaging cash for far too long. Anyone surprised by this likely still

Look, I'm empathetic because I was there, but I also don't know why people act surprised. Bootcamps have been on a downward trend for years, and leadership hasn't done anything to correct the course, including the CFO of 5 years who went along for the ride to completely and utterly financially tank the ship. Chip and he were the goons navigating the Titanic.

This business has not worked since the multiple acquisitions or the continued placement of failed leaders. It will never work, and the executive team is now relating lay-offs to performance-related issues ("We also committed to increased accountability for delivering against our plan’s objectives," blah blah blah) when the reality is that they are so out of their depth, it's laughable.

I hear a lot about lying low and getting your severance, which blows my mind. Unless you've been there for a long time, the severance is absolute cr-p in comparison to what other companies offer, on top of dealing with the continued shenanigans and stress. Proactively get out; don't wait until it's forced. You are all worth more than this, and you will find something better.
