Ah Monday. Always encouraging to walk into JF3 and see a room of 100 new hires ready to jump on board here at Intel. I know you're think "but I thought we were cutting heads?" Silly rabbit we are pushing out old expensive white folks and bringing in new cheap diverse candidates. This has nothing to do with reducing headcount overall. Simply reducing certain types of heads.

We also had a new hire -- appeared to be Indian but I've not met him yet. Also was told today that JF is getting two tranfer hires from China.
These new hires and other new hires were extended the offers way before this 12% headcount reduction.
Let's face it. Intel wants to get rid of the old and unproductive monkeys. The new monkeys are younger, stronger, eager to work and getting paid less.
People that complain they got VSP, what the heck were you doing the last 3 years to be eligible for VSP? Some have crappy boss and got screwed (sorry), but majority are lazy and doing the minimum to get a paycheck. I work with a guy that complains when we have work. What the heck is Intel paying him do?

I went through NEO 2 years ago with a good pay hike from previous company only to be targeted with ISP down the road for that same pay hike. What a waste of my 2 years!

Intel discourages new ideas and more creative proposals to get the work done. The mgmt refuses to listen to new ideas with a "yeah, but I prefer you do it my way."

Mostly interns . but these interns hardly work and are paid pretty good. They intern for 6 months make enough to pay off their student loans. They do very little work and have all sorts of activities lined up for them. Total waste of money on such interns. And they layoff people who do real important work. Utter nonsense
More NEOs needed to run GPTW activities, play frisbee golf, and to color the population.
I was in a NEO class about 14 months ago...before being ISP'd a couple of weeks ago.
Apart from NEO being mostly a waste of time (here's how to navigate Circuit!)... the advice from the speaker (who's name I forget) was completely wrong: He told us that we were being hired to bring new ideas and change to Intel.
Better advice would have been to talk and act like everyone else and be a yes man/woman to your boss. Oh, and don't be at a remote site.
