Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

Peak apathy

Do many (or any) of us left even care anymore? Bleak outlook, company rapidly falling apart, continual reorgs that reduce workforce while bolstering management, and all of this PRIOR to any OPEC manipulation or coronavirus. Motivation is harder to find every subsequent day. Am I the only one who just doesn't give a sh–? U.S. Shale is finally getting the market-forced deflation it deserves, and it's hard not to despise Apache for even engaging in that nonsense in the first place.

With all the work having to be done, I’m happy to leave.

All the care I had, has diminished over time. Apache has shown its true colors time and time again. My current work load is equivalent to 2-3 people. I cannot wait for this pandemic to be over!

Oh I've got more responsibility currently on my shoulders than I've ever had at this company. It's pretty absurd, really. I'm doing the job of at least 4 people of my skillset since the company thought it would be wise to can those folks. I just don't care anymore. The executives have displayed time and time again during my short 5 years here that they don't care about Apache's financial wellbeing or the wellbeing of the employees. What do I owe them in return?

If you have time to ponder on the origins of your motivation then I want your job. With all the layoffs, 8 new bosses, and daily changes to how we operate i barley have enough time to breath. It feels like HR is mocking me with their emails to take online classes, or get out to take walks. WHO THE FRACK HAS TIME FOR THIS $HIT?!?! I have to shovel food in my mouth in between meetings while running to the bathroom. So you want to trade me?

There are the naive (first response), the stupid (JC and his buddies) and the stuck (others). Not great.

I think I noticed the change similar to when the founder passed away. Not that I know anything about him but the timing was noted.

I am a current long time employee. I use to believe in this company and our leadership. Like many of you I have invested my professional life to Apache because of this belief. After witnessing our leadership manipulate, play good old boy and be dishonest to all of us during this reorganization it has made me (and many others, just ask around) want out. There's no ownership in the mistakes that were made and no one to report them to because Ethics reports to JC. So to answer your question if anyone cares anymore? I for one pray that we're bought. Show me the money.

The King has fallen, he just doesn't know it yet.

Plenty of Apaches care.
This is a global downturn in oil. EVERY company is making decisions, Plug and Abandon, Abandon Leases, Shut in, Complete, etc.
ALL companies are reducing Contractors and Staff. There simply is not much active drilling going on.
Diamond Offshore declared bankruptcy. Oxy is in big trouble. Chesapeak and Devon are in trouble.

Analysts and the Stock Market are selecting Apache to survive. And that is good news
