Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Titanic- great hopes and potential but…….

It’s a case of so much potential yet slowly sinking due to ETL ineptness, and a complete disconnect with what’s going on…With executive leaders who do not have experience with new logo growth of a product without brand recognition or a positive brand reputation- they are completely lost a best or powerless to command from ETL what is required at worse.
Zero infrastructure, Zero funding to truly tackle new logo growth in the current climate, Zero support from corporate marketing to fix the company’s perception within the market, marketing tactics or lack of that makes the marketing fiasco of “rebranding Coke”look like a project drummed up from a genius think tank,How does JW still have a job?, a product that has no competitive advantage and issues, everywhere you turn it’s a $hart-shown…etc etc etc…failure is inevitable no matter what level of sales talent you hire… you cannot sell something people do not believe in nor want…..the issue is more systemic and no one seems to have the constitution to do what it’s going to take to turn the titanic around…. Potential- absolutely! But in the hands of the clown crew… one can only hope to jump ship before it sinks…

JW will have a job as long as she/they want it because, you know, diversity. Diversity hires are rarely worth much and she/they is no exception.

All these posts are spot on and the "strategy" has done nothing to address these issues. This company is strapped down to one product, one sales channel, and no ability to change. At this point, it is helpless. Not even Elon Musk could save us...

TDC has NEVER figured out how to work with resellers nor have they WANTED resellers - blah blah blah - they talk a good game but it's total baloney. They don't want any other company "in control" of an account - even if the reseller has a great relationship with the customer/prospect. It's ALWAYS about what a partner can bring to Teradata in terms of pipeline and NEVER about a partnership. Teradata in the early years knew it needed partners to fill out sales channels other than direct - now Teradata (with inept management) sees partners as a list of names for chest-puffery. As a former partner, I know first-hand how Teradata actively works against partners.

Wow, TD still has Gov customers? Must be an oversight on the part of the Gov.

Teradatas issue is that it doesnt understand how to partner with other businesses big or small. It tries to sell direct to EVERYBODY which is the most expensive way possible to get new customers. Unwillingness to partner with resellers is highlighted by the amount of Gov customers (who only by from approved resellers) it doesnt have.
