Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Strive for the better!

I gave notice yesterday, I stayed here too long. I will only miss my coworkers, who were really great. It is not true that only those who cannot find a job anywhere else work here. I have worked with people whose abilities and talents surpass this miserable place. However, I have noticed that some of them do not believe in themselves.

Why is that?

One should never stop striving for the better.

I was laid off four years ago this month in the cuts to IT...best thing that ever happened to me.

Not immediately, mind you: I spent almost two years working contract gigs, low pay, no benefits, no job security. But I kept looking for better, and eventually landed the best job of my life with a huge raise, full benefits, full-time work from home.

If you're here reading this, you can do better than this dumpster fire of a dying company, I guarantee it. Don't let the fear of the unknown stop you: Companies have never been more desperate for employees and they're at the point where they're willing to give people they never would've considered in a million years a shot. Now is the time to jump ship and find new work, not during the next economic crisis when everyone cuts staff and you have to compete with hundreds of fellow unemployed to even get an interview, never mind an offer. Freshen that resume and get cracking.

So being asked to come in on your day off to be able to finish unfinished tasks (No fault of your own) is a bad thing? I wish it was like the union dudes who if they have to come in for 15 minutes get 3 hrs minimum pay! Me… I come in for 15 minutes… I get 15 minutes pay.

Congratulations on your new position. Glad to hear you are getting out of that he-l ho-e.
I left two months ago after ten years. When they started paying new hires more than a ten year employee it was time to get out. It was the best decision of my life.
Any Macy’s employee not seeking a new job should wake up.
Macy’s is definitely a has been organization And they will regret their decision to pay new hires more than long term employees.

It used to be a great place to work but no longer.
Macy’s has driven all the talent out out due to greed.

Hi-fives to you!

I left a month ago (after 6 years) and started a new (higher paying) job where I already feel appreciated.

Seriously, if you want to leave, NOW is the time to go. There are so many jobs open right now and you can definitely move onto something bigger and better. As bad as Macy's is, it looks good on a resume.

Macy's has never been a great place to work, now it's downright unbearable and the current mass exodus of employees is going to come back to hurt them.

Karma is a bish.

About a third of the coworkers at Macy’s are this companies only redeeming quality. It is a shame that Macy’s does not take care of some of the loyal and talented people who work here. Macy’s uses people the ones who work are expected to more and the ones that do little get rewarded for the bu-t kissing they provide to management.
I will be giving notice in January and I cannot wait to get out of this unethical cesspool of deceit. They can’t pay me what the new hires are making until May ??? What kind of crazy place is this.
Macy’s I has gone down the road of no return and they deserve all that they have coming to them.

I look at this post with two ways.. either you work for cooperate and your planning on cleaning house in 2022 or you really got bushed to the brink in this dying place.
