Any news ?

How does CMO Mike Marcellin still have a jobe after stating he cannot connect the dots between marketing and revenue in his Forbes interview, http://buff.ly/2qTakAa , you know a bad quarter is around the corner. He says... "I can’t connect the investment to finance-related outcomes like pipeline or revenue, I can compare how we are doing relative to competitors. While I’m not able to directly attribute the value of awareness to revenue generation, I am able to talk to the CFO about how comfortable we are with our prospects seeing more information about our competitors’ " ?????
Any news about the "staff realignment"?
Heard the UK&I numbers have missed colossally. Fasten seat belts for heads on the chopping block in EMEA with a new boss from "Brocade".
Heard nothing so far in EMEA. The only thing we hear is the weird slogan: Make EMEA great again! Speechless.
Apparently there are layoffs happening in India too, in three figures, as per a poster on another thread
Layoff today was in AMERICAS - not hearing much else. Maybe this is one of the small local layoffs I hear take place each quarter, rather than a company/worldwide one like what happened in March?
@1Fcsu May I ask which geographical region you are in ? Just trying to figure out if and when its gonna come our ways in Europe.
Confirmed - layoffs started; just on an announcement call - group I support lost 3 people today. Not sure if other groups affected.
Agree with you. Bad quarter might be in the horizon, followed by more layoffs.
Here's a sign... when the CMO Mike Marcellin says he cannot connect the dots between marketing and revenue in his Forbes interview, http://buff.ly/2qTakAa , you know a bad quarter is around the corner. Seriously? RR and VM must be saying WTF!!!
So, this means we have a CMO that believes, if the customers who bought the competitors products, but have 'seen' more of Juniper's marketing gibberish, marketing has done their job.
Why does JNPR pay these execs good salaries to do a crappy job?
With layoffs around the corner, I hate to think that good people in engineering, sales and other groups will lose jobs due to mediocrity and bad decision making like this, at the top.
Don't forget, the band played on while the Titanic was sinking.
These jobs advertised on the website and career boards are not an indication of JNPR as a company heading in the right direction, or not. We all know there is a lot of waste, and mismanagement, that eventually will get cleaned up, possibly driven by another "activist" hedge fund like the last rendezvous with the Elliot Management Group. When RR (and VM) are questioned and pressured from the outside, to really investigate sales and marketing activities, they will see the light and be forced to turn this ship around.
Fasten your seatbelts -- Turbulence ahead.
Agree 100% about the real reasons behind layoffs. What I do not understand is we apparently have a hiring freeze - then where do all these listed jobs on the career page come from - especially in EMEA where rumoredly numbers are really poor.
What leads to layoffs is not just anticipating a bad quarter, but actually having one.
Contributing to a bad quarter at JNPR comes in many forms including... crappy/half baked products, gambling on the wrong technologies that are too expensive to sell, marketing hype with no products to back it up, lack of c-suite leadership - specifically CTO, disoriented CMO and marketing VPs who are simply out of touch with reality, artificially inflating revenues and disengaged sales teams, just to name a few. These are real issues at JNPR that need to be adressed. If not we will be spiralling down fast. BTW, word on the street is, more layoffs are just around the corner.
EMEA is waiting for a new SVP Theatre for the last 6 months. That situation is supposed to get resolved soon. Hopefully that will have some positive effect on some erratic management decisions. Too much to handle for one person at this time and some career parasites have managed to slither their way in management positions. Dark days ahead.
Confirmed there is currently a hiring freeze...in my experience this is the first step leading to layoffs.
No specifics, but my manager confirmed in a meeting this week, that more layoffs are being considered. Nothing about the time frame, size, groups etc., as far as he knows, nothing is finalized and no details have been shared yet at his level.
Don't know for sure. Rumors circulating about another axing in June. See the same here on this forum. Who knows? Management need to take a very close look at recent promotions and the basis upon which those were done.
new round coming up soon?
Sigh! No respite in this industry. Cannot just relax and work. Time to look for another job. Its really disappointing how quickly things went down. All it took if for my manager to leave and a career parasite somehow got promoted. In the western world one would expect someone to be interviewed and vetted before promoted to a man-manager and be in a position to ruin lives.
Nothing solid, just persistent rumor of a layoff in June
Any news about the layoffs in June rumours?
Layoffs again?
@jigaboo writing from 'Europe', since you and your friends got promoted by stroking JD and swallowing his nut sack, you must all be feeling the stress as the inevitable end is closing in. Not just you, justice will be served, up the entire management chain.
Well, I am in Europe and not have heard anything about any impending layoffs again...yet. Won't be surprised though. Maybe next time its my name on the list. Looking for a suitable employment for the last few weeks due to management issue. All of a sudden total weirdness for a manager in power have completely disturbed career balance over night at a place where I worked and grew in peace and with my pride intact under my ex-boss who quit few months back. Now I am being called names without citing any factual reason. If a layoff comes, i hope HR investigates who are behind these stiff-arm promotion racket and fire them first before laying off productive, amazing professionals as they did last quarter.
Just heard a rumour that another round of layoffs are coming within a couple of months, June maybe. Any one knows anything?
Agreed. Product management has no confidence in the Marketing team. These days, even startups have better websites, more polished marketing materials and more professional launches.
High attrition is the first indication of a failed leadership. Even a fraction of top employees leaving before the next round of layoffs, (which is now expected around the end of the 2nd quarter), will lead JNPR to spiral out of control. Product delays are inevitable. It already feels like a downward spiral.
JNPR just can't catch a break with the product/technology/target-market strategies being taken. Looks like these are completely off the mark too. At this point a change in focus and leadership is neccesary. Sadly, marketing is just not capable, nor competent. Marketing leaders are delusional.
In other successful companies, the CTOs office sets the direction. Not so at JNPR, where a group of arrogant, 'know-it-all', marketing VPs and Directors blindly play guessing games. You really can't blame any good engineers wanting to leave - when there is no meaningful vision, mission or path to success. Ad-hoc goals just don't cut it for a company this size. Hopefully, the board, RR and VM have noticed all this.
Maybe, with accelerated exec searches in the works, a complete (marketing) cleanup is planned, and that will help reverse this decline, and stop the bleeding.
Agree 100% with the poster from EMEA. What is wrong with this company? Inexperienced, poor man-managers given power all of a sudden in a sector as culturally and economically diverse as Europe. Someone who was kissing arse couple of months back is all of a sudden a "manager" now and behaves as if he is going to take over as CEO. Getting out of here seems like a very prudent action. It was good while it lasted.
Agree with the "woman" poster. I am a man, was NOT affected, but am now looking at several options to go to from this company which was once great and now seems to have become a feeding ground for scavengers and career opportunists who are no good at anything but politics. They are being promoted and to their own detriment, are scaring and pushing away productive people.
I was affected, I am a woman. I know several other incredibly smart and dedicated men who were affected. It's a shame, but the company is circling the drain anyway. So many people are leaving willingly now.
I interviewed there last year for an ME position. Too many checks and balances to get anything done. Decided to not be interested and bailed on the interview
Cisco picked the short straw...

Will the rest of his friends follow, or wait until they get booted too? Word on the street, it wont be long.
Even ops teams as lot of side kicks
That is long pending cleanup needed
Let's be clear.
JD is gone because he was fired. Not because "he didn't like" the organization. The organization didn't like him, and to be absolutely clear, the organization doesn't care for JD's army of overpaid, arrogant, disruptive, non-productive "sidekicks". These are his friends that were carefuly placed and promoted along the way. They tried to destroy juniper, while being selfish, self-serving, and making decisions that supported their own personal agendas. This is a long list of people and you are all over the place... you know who you are... your time has come... you need to start packing and hit the road!
Yes! KH is awesome!
Locations, Groups, Levels? Anyone?
8% is what I heard. Mostly QA.
Well, JD is gone too...
Looks like he didn't like the new organization structure
Thank you RR. KH is awesome. Congrats to KH and AA.

Agreed! If you don't kiss JD's a$$ thrn considered yourself screwed. Cisco is doing better than Juniper after JD left. Seriously he and his sidekicks need to leave. And Marissa Mayer should replace RR as CEO to really help turn Juniper around.
Yes, a lot of affected people were women. Talk about diversity. HA!
Names not allowed here, bro.
