The next phase of IT displacements is nearing. This project will see whole divisions being outsourced.

Terminating someone who falls below a 3 on annual Evans will likely be considered a termination for cause, which means not eligible for severance and doesn't go toward the layoff count
A Senior Manager who happens to have a spouse here at Aflac, told them that their department is being looked at to be outsourced or eliminated. Giving them ample time to find something new before what the said the September 30th "cut day" that is going to happen.
Fall below a 3 on your annual review, and you’ll be cut. And we all know those leaders who are biased and spiteful.
With the stock split, the move to Inc. Time in position waived, padding Execs pockets and trying to sell off subsidiaries like Communicorp... watch out!
This only illustrates their true colors. There never was any need to operate like this. Had they continued like the old timers mention the old Aflac was they would be making plenty of money and profit. Bringing the sales force in-house, chopping hundreds of jobs, spending money foolishly on spruce goose projects all underscore they are just trying to max their cashouts short term. For what other than greed, beyond that they are probably all bailing or selling the company. The sad part is alot of good folks are going to be hurt by this.
Does anyone know if there are plans to expand the contract with EXL and the India-based employees who work there?
Ask what Project BumbleBee is about... and ask for 100's of names of positions being eliminated.
What other "divisions" will be outsourced. Thought everything went to an external vendor??
I see a lot of mentions about the most ethical list. Keep in mind the company will be very careful to not allow anyone in a displaced department complete the surveys they submit when they apply to be on any "best" list
To make the problem even worse...the 100 open positions are likely at a lower level than most of the 500 jobs that will be cut. So if you happen to be one of the lucky 100...congrats on your demotion!
Between #aflaclayoffs and a restructured bonus (which reduces the annual payout) and the tax cuts, the execs are raking in the cash all for themselves. They are padding their bank accounts with the salaries of all us little people who need it way more than they do. They just keep treating us like we are too stupid to realize what is really going on. They are too busy patting themselves on the back for being “ethical” to care about the lives that are left devastated in their wake. If this is one of the most ethical companies and one of the 100 best places to work...it’s clear that those titles are meaningless. A company that will take credit for being ethical and accept praise from the president, all while knowing they are getting ready to LAYOFF so many ppl, is anything but ethical. Shame on all of them.
Problem is, they have less than 100 positions to apply to, and over 500 people to cut. Doesn't look good at the good old Duck.
Yes, you are correct. Those under the current project NDA know this. It is a way to have people voluntarily post out, then their role will not be backfilled. With a very limited list of positions to apply to, this is just another stall tactic to get through EAW and get good responses on the survey. September 30th will be here before you know it. HUGE displacements.
If the previous comment about waiving time in position is true then that speaks volumes about job security. They want as many people to begin posting out as soon as possible so they can drain departments they want to reduce. That way, when displacements happen in a few months they can claim they displaced very few people.
Why do you think they waived time in position for the whole company? That should tell you all that you need to know.
Do you think DA and TW will send reps back to DC to tell the Prez how much they appreciate the tax cuts...And how much they appreciate the positive press they received for how much they "gave back" to employees? i guess once they displace 100s of people in the next few months, the company will experience the real financial gains. It was very easy for the duck to announce all the new benefits when they knew they wouldn't be paying them for long. #ethisphere got this one wrong...again.
