Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Canon Reduction

Straight from the horse mouth, expect more firing. Sam calls for more reduction for an “agile and robust” company. Sam’s words from the meeting in case you missed it.
“Administration; let’s turn to our administration group, exceed and excel. From administrative perspective means, pursuing even greater efficiency. We still have many inefficient assets that need to be reduced. Please continue to streamline our asset structure to make the comp more agile and robust, not only Administration but CSG must also strongly support this initiative.” So there you go folks, more to come. Question is when? How will they do it, severance or no severance? If anyone one has a heads up of the happenings behind the scene, pleased post here, so we can at-least not be blindsided.

More is to come, watch the just recently published interview with Francis on "what they think". Its really kinda funny how PPS is doing so well, but he has to stay back from hunkler inovation days to complete the restructuring that will be happening.

Amazing!!

Canon is an excellent place to work!! I love it here. The pay is great, the people are hardworking, the expat leadership is super qualified and have a well defined plan for revenue growth. The office is super collaborative, the promotions are based on merit and not just “being Japanese”. The cuts and layoffs made us more efficient and more motivated then ever.

Also - everything I just stated is 100% false.

This is the absolute WORST WORST WORST place to work. It’s like we’re in prison for 8 hours per day. My colleagues and I are literally there to not work hard and collect a subpar paycheck until we can find another job. Plus on work from home days half the employees have those automatic mouse movers going so it looks like we’re working when really everyone is out running errands, exercising, napping or just watching tv.
