Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Exit Strategy

For those that are sick and tired of Truist, now is the time to start thinking of your “Exit Strategy”…… Tough it out until March when AIP/LTI is paid. Start interviewing in January/February. As soon as AIP/LTI is paid, put in 2 weeks notice and farewell Truist!

No one would need to leave if they got rid of WF exec hires like Kenneth G. Or did we all wake up in a communist country?

". . . now is the time to start thinking of your “Exit Strategy”"

No, the day they first announced the merger was the time to start thinking of your “Exit Strategy”!

A word of advice. Upon putting 2 weeks notice in, do not tell your manager or anyone at Truist who you are going to work for. Put your notice in. Work to ensure a smooth transition during the 2 week period and do not burn bridges. You do not have to tell anyone who you are going to work for and best not to tell anyone.

@wsz+1vAtM2iL: it depends. If it’s formulaic, like a commission or production-based (sell x# and make y$), it is generally (depending on state law) paid out as earned income. If it’s discretionary, determined on subjective matters like “leadership” and funded on department and/or company performance, then no. It’s not “earned” in the same sense; it’s more “awarded”.

@wsz+1vAtM2iL - Not true. If a teammate leaves on their own or is terminated with cause prior to bonus, it is not paid to them. On a different note, you taking your insulin for your diabetes? You’ve become a fat ph-k over the years. Truist must leave you little time for exercise ^^

Beware, sometimes the grass is greener because it is growing over a sewer. A lot of banks have the same issues as SunTruist. Your new boss or bosses aren’t always what they appeared during the hiring process. The culture your new employer has may be different but not necessarily better and yes they damn near all have some “Purpose” in their mission statement. You’ve been warned as I know what I speak.

you do realize that the bonus has been earned as soon as the new year starts - if you are thinking about leaving, one does not have to wait until they get paid before you leave - you have earned and will get paid that bonus check

Meh, people just want to complain and wait for others to fix things, the majority won't be willing to do work to improve their own circumstances
