Despite a lucrative package, many I know are not taking the package. Life in GM will be tough in the coming months for sure.
I am not taking it as the job market is lousy out there.

I will take the VSP, get a raise and experience in a new industry for 3 years, and then come back for 20% more pay to enjoy the chill environment and massive time off.
Then I'll take the next severance package after that!
All these o..guys winging around for retirement and just doing the bare minimum should take this golden offer and make way for youngsters. Neither these o..people innovate nor work hard.
Pathetic that GM lifer cowards who want to get the VSP numbers up are goading young people to quit.
“Quit so they don’t lay me off!”
The very people doing this… I hope the coming mass layoff catches up with you.
I would think young people who have the required 5 years would jump on this because it's easier for them to find another job than older employees.
Yes, even those in late fifties should take it while job market it still good. GM seems to offer only during UAW contract years. Take it while you can as it may not come around again (like in '19 and '23).
Gm is giving you money to cover the insurance for 1 year.
People over 62? That includes MTB, Mark Reus and a number of executives
If you were a NCH 5 years ago so you're allowed to take the VSP, you should.
It's very generous, and companies love young and cheap people, so you'll easily find a new job.
Getting the VSP then finding a new job will mean double pay for a while.
You going to pay for my Cobra Insurance if I take it ?
you going to pay for my Cobra insurance ?
Opposite here #troll
That’s sad. People over 62 should take it and enjoy life. Just let it go and move on with their lives.
