It's not ALL of GTS being gutted. GTS has +‐10,000 employees. Maybe your particular department is being outsourced. Many departments were outsourced to Infosys 6 years ago. But yes, the trend will be to continue to outsource as many IT functions as possible. Join the club.
If true that all of GTS is being outsourced to HCL, look for GTS to retain a handful of management staff to oversee those areas. It can never be 100% - we'll just have to see how close they get to that number.
I'm in the group affected. It's all of GTS in the US. Other countries unaffected. Just USA. Getting outsourced to HCL. We're the guys that support all of Verizon software,hardware. So now they'll have no internal IT support at all. Which is insane for any company to do especially one which relies upon technology working correctly. Which is a very d-mb move by Verizon.
GTS has been useless for years. About time.
GTS folks deliberately creates patch work to make sure problem is never fixed. They are the reason for this mess of a P&L. And the reason for this mess is the head of the pack who politics to stay there. Indian mob at the top. Absolutely crazy that Ms Ham is ok with this lack of diversity at the top of GTS.
VGS was put together for the very purpose of gutting every organization it oversees.
Seems to be in vogue right now given the current administration.

I love that art of the possible diversity hire cfo that cannot spell the word finance if their life was dependent on it. Leadership goes and uses words like energize after the meeting with HR to finalize who to cut. Swedish mother of innovative AI by the Indian mob. Long live the BoD who is sleeping on the wheel
Gutted is extreme, but given that most of the client is work is done by the vendor, it's plausible.....
Those affected, it would help the rest of to understand the role and area affected.

Can you share more? I have heard of pockets of impacts and soft notifications but nothing that says mass moves or cuts.
