Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

How to fix Adidas?

The company is in a downward spiral and if you ask me, I think that it might be too late for some things to be fixed here. And yet, I'm thinking about what should be done as a priority to get the company back on track. Any thoughts?

Purge of McKinsey leadership i.e. Innovation

Spend the money on their high wages on developing internal talents.

What was totally mental was all the money invested in creating future leaders who all fu---d off to other companies when they realised that after 15 years in the company some chump with an MBA who wouldn't know their lateral from their medial view was getting a job to lead innovation.

I do not think it can be fixed.
The company is choke-full with Franconian village mentality M1 and M2, YES men on German blue card and swarming ambitious VP-wannabes with severe psychopatic traits.
Add to that some extreme earnings-first mindset, preference for low wage labour only and discrimination of almost any kind possible to the mix and you have the picture of what adidas is. The cherry on top being the K.
Happy funeral!

We need a very clear, simple direction focusing on sports.

At a core level, senior leadership needs to rebuild the trust of their employees. I do not trust a single word that comes out of their mouths.

We have no clear direction as an organization, so each BU and market have completely different conflicting priorities.

This leads to senior leaders doing what is best for them in the moment and not what is best for the organization as a whole.

I don’t trust senior leadership because they all contradict each other.

When they contradict each other, this trickles down to the employees. Leaning up the mess. This can often only be solved by working 80 - 100 hrs / week, which is leading to mass burnout.

Rebuild the width and depth in products, innovation and services. that make adidas a true sports brand. Those got eroded over the last years and so adidas became a sport inspired, influencer driven and partnership relying echo of what it used to be.

Fully remote work for all employees as an option. Let the ones who want to be in the office go in and those who want to be remote can be.
