Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

How worried should we be about this?

This is a message to all Staples, Inc. employees. We are continuing to experience issues across various Microsoft platforms, including MS Outlook and Teams today, November 29th.

We are working hard to bring all systems back up as quickly as possible. We will provide an update shortly. Thank you for your patience.

Staples takes over an hour for the help desk to answer? Ridiculous. Most associates complain they didnt even help them. Typical companies? Are a matter of a few minutes. Keep sending jobs to India. Associates so love the lack of attentiveness and inability to understand support. #Staples is heading to bankruptcy.

If karma is real then this could be an example of it in action. Sycamore does mass layoffs during holidays and this outage is karmas way of teaching Sycamore a lesson.

Financially they will be covered under insurance if it's a cyberattack or breach.. But the downtown will cause a huge backlog and weeks of recovery especially the front end.

Hearing reports that all 300 people that were laid off have all been sequestered to an FC that has been converted into a dungeon with death traps and dangerous puzzles in an effort find out which one of them helped hack the network. They were allegedly snapped out of their slumber by a live stream of JL asking “wanna play a game?”

I am very worried. I've heard FC's are closed today and drivers at some locations were told not to come in today. Clorox had a cyber attack on Aug 14 and it took until Sep 24 for them to be able to resume production. No one at Staples has confirmed an attack, but it seem suspicious. Hopefully we will be back up soon and the sales hit won't be too hard.

It will be fixed soon ? And then what? The revenue loss over this will be large. Customers will lose faith in us. The Frontline workers will bear the brunt of this, being screamed at by customers, with no real answers to give. Lots to worry about

Nothing to be worried about “at this point”. What su-k up AVP wrote this? Or did it come from SLT?

Was that rhetorical? No confidence in this message or that corporate has a clue. Generic messaging and the AVPs and VPs are not staying connected with their teams to give them direction or guidance as to what has happened and really when the resolution is coming. Hourly reps want to know are they getting paid for all 8 hours for yesterday and today.

Nothing to be worried about at this point. Just stay in touch with your direct report and it will be fixed soon.
