Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Citi Sticking w/Hybrid

It's official for now. 😉 I hope it stays this way. My site doesn't have the capacity for 5 day anyway. They had to give a positive after the extra cr-ppy bonuses and raises.

I find it to be a complete waste of time for me to drive 45 minutes to the office, present my badge at the front door and then leave 5 minutes later to return home where I work, very productively, for the remainder of the day just to satisfy some mo--nic "policy" we were forced to sign onto as "hybrid" workers. Not a sole at the office I go to does anything remotely close to my job, so there is no collaboration that is EVER going to happen between us. 9 hours a week of my life I will never get back because of the stupidity of our leadership.

Citi has a big commercial portfolio and holds the notes for a lot of commercial properties. That's the entire reason for RTO. Commercial property values are worth less than the loans against them. Empty buildings are worthless and at the risk of default. Add tax incentives, duress form local governments etc, and you get the mandate to fill up offices. Has nothing to do with working better together. It's about staving off a commercial property economy collapse and local governments wanting to recoup the tax losses from covid and WFH. But don't believe the BS. It has nothing to do with working better together. If that were true why would a posting that reports to someone in TX be hiring only in Tampa?

Every office doesn't have a 3 day in office policy due to capacity. I do think that they are trying to look good to the media and flood it with positive stuff. Gotta look good before they are slapped with more fines due to not fixing stuff and federal scrutiny 🧐 due to Elon n'crew. Lol

Yeah. They are sending out friendly(threating) reminder emails that bosses have a dashboard that they can monitor who's coming in office. Thanks JF!

No accommodation for employees who were orphaned from a site due to site closures. Citi closes several sites forcing many to become telecommuters. As a result their career has been ground to a halt and they are ostracized. Thanks Citi!

Well if you actually worked here you’d know there is no choice for most locations.

But you don’t p, so you don’t. Which begs the question why are you here?

Let's see if Citi reneged on this in 6 months just like the other companies did.

I'm cautiously optimistic. But of course I do Not trust what Citi says.

They've lied about other Sh!t before.
