Postponed or not? I know it doesn’t make much difference in the long run. They are about to offshore everyone and everything. This year is going to be exceptionally bad. I’m in the business of buying time until I find something else, so every day that I’m still having a job is a win.

Any layoff updates on HBMC, FPM or Landmark?
Based on an ETIPS Town Hall shifting from the 16th to the 22nd I'd assume rumored layoffs are delayed a week?
theres a project thats been running for a few months now to further integrate offshore IT at the end of the month but it was pushed back a week. matches the rumor of delayed layoffs
Are they laying off on the 16th? What about Social work in particular? Anyone have any insight?
It’s not just tech, it’s everything. Anything they’re not required to have onshore, they’re sending onshore. Even then they’re bringing people in w/work visas to do that work. The work can be call ops, business analysts, capability managers and project managers, nothing is safe anymore.
What drives me absolutely insane is the outsourcing of IT support. All time low.
16th may get pushed to Feb since the 16th is when they announce Q4 earnings (sounds like we’re breaking records)
Who is the leadership that has an early AM meeting? Is it just Optum side? Certain department?
Anyone have updates about FPM/landmark/HBMC layoffs?
All signs from previous events (every two to three weeks during the past two plus years) are reoccurring. Having to describe every 0.1 of work being done by every FTE. We've seen quite odd reporting moves too with most taking place with no communication to or from anyone. And if the mood of leadership is any indication then it's going to be bad. It remains impossible to understand how anyone in any kind of senior leadership role could even remotely delude themselves into thinking that they are running a successful organization. Having been here approaching 20 years I can honestly say that it has never been this bad. But both Desai and Witty should be gone if the people who worked for them had any actual input!!
Leadership has a meeting early morning on the 16th, no agenda, but I wouldn't be surprised it it has to do with workforce reduction.
I also heard about the 16th date being pushed out to the 23rd.
I doubt layoffs are coming in Jan. All the bean counters and execs are hiding behind fences and security, afraid of their employees if they layoff more people. If they just did their job and do what is in united culture and our mission, there will be enough for everyone with happy employees and healthier customers. Unfortunately in capitalism, humans are just cash cow or pigs to be sla-ghtered. For US employees we’re just throw away.
I am in the same boat. It’s really hard especially if you are the primary bread earner, need heath coverage or you’re not getting any interview requests (internal no show/outsourced jobs just for more H1 visas. It can drive one crazy in uncertainty. Keep focused on things you can control and life post UHG. This is just a job. Good luck everyone.
Yikes! You heard layoffs were coming the 16th? How did you hear?
