Thread regarding VMware layoffs

I don't trust Broadcom

I know everybody is saying no more cuts until after the holidays but I'm having trouble believing it.

Simple, if your BU makes 1.2 plus million per employee, you will expect to be good.
If not, just do the math for your percentage chance to be layoff next round.

Most people in BC receives 500k or more total comp last year. They must make 1.2-1.5M in sale …

In Broadcom, everyday is a brand new day. It all depends on how well Hock slept that night and by any change if your name came in his dreams to fire you, the next morning you will be gone without any delay or questions asked. Except Hock everyone else in the company has a expiry date set by Hock himself, nobody can escape that.

This is how the company operates, so now you can make a calculated decision whether to trust or not

Don't trust any corporation. Look at what Google and Facebook did to so many loyal employees. They don't care. It's always about the $. The garbage economy didn't make things easier.

Broadcom is at least transparent. If you make them money, you will be rewarded. If your BU does not do well, then start looking.

Winter is here but it will get worse after the holidays. Conserve you $$$, it's a tough market out there to be job hunting in.

Ride the equity and bonus wave as long as you can and if you get laid off in a future layoff then so be it.

It’s not that complicated. No tech company is guaranteeing employment forever.

We have moved into a shareholder priority tech industry now.

The stock matters more than you do.

Welcome to living in hunger games.

Fear of being fired is just like breathing. Except you will be feeling like this 24/7 for as long as you remain at bcom.

Fun!

There will be no new cuts added to the list... unfortunately we don't know the whole list. You don't have to read deep to know there are more cuts that haven't been announced. They probably can say honestly they aren't planning to plan any more cuts. What ever that is worth.
