Thread regarding Northwestern Mutual layoffs

Inclusion Confusion

Revel in Tech proved once again today how divided the company has become. The divisive presentations promoting hatred, hostility, and personal agendas had nothing to do with technology or Northwestern Mutual business. The same subset of troublemaking employees continue their plight to obtain dominance instead of equality at the expense of defaming and bullying other employees.

It was ruled illegal only for college admissions at this point. However, the organization that took that lawsuit forward wants to use it to establish further precedence in other areas of affirmative action, like employment.

NM leadership better think twice about that 25% quota on "non-diverse" candidates for a job posting. That was ruled illegal and unconstitutional by the Supreme Court and continuing that racist policy they are opening themselves up to lawsuits.

Now that the SCOTUS has struck down affirmative action at colleges with presumably corporations coming next I wonder what NM will do? Will they finally start treating all employees equally and stop targeting white males?

I attended about 15 minutes of the keynote and turned it off and didn’t attend any other session. I was excited to have something about tech, but this seemed to be very different and I specifically didn’t seem to be the target audience. Why can’t we just have a fun day about tech? Why does it have to be about politices and race all the time?

Do you think MG is bad her husband outshines her 10x with arrogance and incompetence. No one wants to work with him from the employees to individuals on the business. How AW thinks he is a representation of CS is out of this world. If you want someone who has a great title, does little, thinks NM is a pyramid scheme (slack reference) you can have him.

I beg someone take him, please.

Send examples of Self-absorbed Susie and Misfit Mia to the Board of Directors at the company main address. Include pictures as well. If senior leaders won't address them and their behavior then it is time to go to the top.

@1yrz+1meHuAB6 I dare you to put your radical beliefs and reverse discrimination to practice in the workplace. I will have an HR complaint and federal discrimination lawsuit filed against the company and you personally before you can even say Revel in Tech.

Come on he did something, implemented Workday and hired all of his friends. Where has he been, no one has seen him, maybe in his cryogenic chamber waiting for the next sliver singles shoot. He cares more about his dog than the 8k employees he leads.

We all hope that NM comes to the same realization that HP did regarding DR and also shows him the door. He can take WIT, Revel, and all of his other DEI programs with him. There has been a zero value add with anything he has implemented.

The previous poster shows exactly why no one is buying this as inclusion. “You had your time” is a message of revenge, pure and simple.

Notice in their comment how they take joy in being ageist, s-xist, and racist themselves, but it’s all okay because the ends justify the means. These are truly bad people.

I am hoping that DR (hr) is going to become the next CEO. His progress on moving the company forward is magical (almost as much as his pink pants). Pushing out the old crusty people with the healthcare changes has moved the company forward to be more inclusive. What I saw with revel is progress not just having non-poc people in charge anymore. To the comment around how nm hires, so what it’s called equality you had your time! Click tock click tock your time is up resign before you are pushed out. This isn’t your gentleman’s club nm anymore.

What are Selfie Susie and Misfit Mia going to do today? Actual work for once?

It’s not really inclusion if certain people feel excluded. Inclusion at the expense of others isn’t inclusion. Demonizing white men might be funny to you, but I have a husband a son. They’re real people.

And it’s more than inclusion. The keynote speaker wants to redefine what professionalism is to so we can be our “more authentic selves.” Yeah, no thanks. I have a teenager at home trying his best to be his “authentic self” and I can guarantee none of it is conducive to actually getting work done. As charming and interesting as he is, you’d probably find him to be a pretty unreliable and disruptive teammate.

The people pedaling this stuff are a bunch of fake gurus. How many of these people actually had successful businesses or were successful in a role that was unrelated to DEI?

I love this forum…just a bunch of whiny white men who view a message of inclusion as exclusion. Silly people…stay mad I guess, nothing is going to change.

Leadership obviously can't figure it out on their own so time to clue them in. The reason people don't want to return to the office is because they don't want to be around the Revel in Tech, WIT, and DEI cult following. These people are not in a stable or rational frame of mind. Most employees don't want to hear the victim stories and sit at a pity party all day. The constant ridiculing, demeaning, and disrespect towards male and Caucasian employees is terrible. Until DR and his entire HR team get things under control don't expect people back anytime soon.

Revel in Tech and WIT are nothing to be proud of and are both a terrible representation of Northwestern Mutual's Technology department. The views expressed are those of a minority group who have no real work to show so they mask themselves under the cloud of DEI.

These events are 2 examples of the many failures that occurred under NS's reign and should have been boxed up and sent with him when he was fired.

I would have expected a Revel in TECH conference to be about tech. I can't say that I saw anything about technology in the sessions I watched. Disappointing but not surprising

Revel in Tech is a gross display of what NML has become and the company continues to set a new low for itself. The great standards, work ethic, and morals of this company have all disappeared. The majority of employees, field force, and policyholders are ultimately the ones that suffer the most to appease a subset of individuals that are inept and unable to conform to the standards of society. NML just keeps enabling them at the expense of their business and reputation.

The keynote from Wednesday was be authentic stop hiding your true self. There is no erg’s representing Caucasian’s or males, correct? I am hiding my identity, this was brought up to D&I but these groups are considered toxic.

Working in the nyc location, I never thought a Midwest company would be more progressive than any NYC based company.

Like many other posts NM hires on s3x and rac3 not on the most qualified.
