In The Beginning:
https://boeing.mediaroom.com/news-releases-statements?item=130536

Boeing has established a $100 million relief fund to meet family and community needs of those affected by these accidents.

Recently: Fifty Million Dollars (Reading the fine print)
Has been set aside for the Boeing Financial Assistance Fund, which is designed to provide immediate financial assistance
to the families of the victims of the (So Called) accidents.
Kenneth Feinberg and Camille Biros, renowned experts in establishing
and overseeing victim’s compensation funds, have been hired to design
and independently administer the Boeing Financial Assistance Fund,
which has already begun providing relief to impacted families.

Here I see Boeing coming up short by not less than 350 million dollars
In taking responsibility with deeds not words
Referencing Mr. Muilenburg statement representing Boeing in (We Own It)

I worked in a union shop once. We actually hired more (union) people and cut overtime almost completely out.

I think generated about 600 more union jobs (something the union says it wants)

I almost eliminated overtime, something the union b–ched about working to much of.

Yet the largest complaint management and union leadership got was " They cut all our overtime"

The union workers ar Boeing have amazing skill. Most union workers do no matter where they work. But for some reason, at Boeing they have become sheep. They get laid off and rather than find another job they wait for a Boeing call back.

The biggest piece of leverage anyone has is their skills. If you don't use it by going somewhere else, then big companies will keep abusing you.

The Good Spin

This is Positive

Is There A Need For FAA Oversight In The Factory?

Some years ago we had FAA Oversight in the 4-21 factory.
The reason: Not following established process.
Result: cracks found after seven years of operation. / AD issued.
We, Boeing agree to follow established process for the wing build.
The FAA representatives then leave.

Fast Forward: Rate increase for the Max, to 40 per month.
Meetings: With all stake holders on how to ramp-up production.
Result: Cut Corners throw out established process to Make Rate.
Subject Matter: The exact same build area of the wing
That led to The Need for FAA Supervision in the first place.

Conclusion:
Boeing Managers cannot be trusted when making decisions between
Production Rate / Profit and Product Reliability / Safety

The FAA grants Boeing a Production Certificate.
The FAA reviewed our Production Process at a rate of
32 per month
Apparently the FAA is naive enough in its thinking to believe
That Boeing Managers can or will maintain established process
While pushing the Rate to 57 aircraft per month

We would all like to see the Rate at 57 (done safely)
Without working people 60 hours a week / Safety
For (Work Life Balance) more skilled staff is needed.
Overtime Is Not a Rate Enabler
Fatigue is a k–ler, people crack just like airplanes.
We Can Do It but Will They
