Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

LinkedIn Template for Layoffs

For those of us impacted by the greatest economy of all time and it’s not even close, here’s a LinkedIn template for your layoff with gratitude, grace and a pivot for what’s next!

Thrilled to share a growth opportunity I didn’t see coming.

I’ve been impacted by a recent layoff, and while this wasn’t the outcome I originally envisioned, I’m choosing to see it as a powerful reset and realignment moment.

Endless gratitude to Verizon for the journey, the incredible people, and the experiences that shaped me into the thought leader I am today. Nothing but appreciation as I close this chapter.

Now it’s time to lean into what’s next. The market is…dynamic, and this transition may come with trade-offs—whether that’s compensation, benefits, PTO, or starting fresh without tenure. But growth doesn’t happen in comfort zones.

I’m energized by the chance to rebuild, reimagine, and reinvent.

Because sometimes you don’t get what you wanted—you get what you need.

Open to opportunities. Ready to add value. Let’s connect!

@bj the conditions in the severance agreement are to not disparage the company. It doesn't mean you can't say you've been laid off or made redundant.

Excited to announce a “growth opportunity” I definitely didn’t ask for and wouldn’t recommend.

I’ve been laid off—because apparently that’s what happens in the “greatest economy of all time.” Funny how that works when you’re the one getting cut.

Let’s be clear: this wasn’t some inspiring pivot moment or carefully chosen next step. It was a decision made above my pay grade that disregarded the actual work, effort, and results I brought to the table.

To my former employer: thanks for the reminder that loyalty is one-sided and performance doesn’t guarantee stability. The experience was…educational.

Now comes the part where I pick up the pieces and figure out what’s next in a market that loves to talk about opportunity while quietly lowering salaries, benefits, and expectations.

But here’s the upside—you don’t go through something like this without getting sharper. I’m not “grateful for the journey.” I’m motivated by it. There’s a difference.

So yes, I’m open to opportunities—but not just anything. I’m looking for something that actually values the people doing the work, not just the optics of it.

Ready to contribute. Not interested in pretending this was a blessing. Let’s connect if you’re serious.

You'll notice alot of people (Verizon and other companies doing layoffs) don't reference layoff, redundant etc as it's a condition in the settlement agreement.

The company are unlikely to act on such a small infringement but I'd not like to test them

Yes, look at the Sales Clowns on LinkedIn in the Public Sector. Look at us at the President's Cabinet in Paris with Kyle. With AI-enhanced photos. This has to be the most tone deaf post I have seen. Middle Finger to your customers. Great value prop and sales strategy.

yeah I see that all the time. first of all, I dont have time to read a long message that in the end turns out the person got laid off. why would you thank a company who took away your livelihood and obviously didnt value you.

That was so good. Why anyone thanks a company that lays them off is beyond me. I walked away with my dignity and 2 middle fingers up. F Verizon and all those clowns.
