Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Teammate Growth Month

Not sure what grows around here.....Senior level roles seem to always be filled with outside hires, promotional opportunities are slim to none. Pay certainly does not grow to keep teammates even with inflation. Benefits shrink like a cheap t-shirt (e.g., 401K match reduction). We are Truist and we are unstoppable, good grief.

@e1 This pretty much explains the current manager we have. Though this is the farthest they have ever gotten in a role like this and still not understanding the departments they manage.

It is quite an awful culture and experience or understanding if the role of the departments don't seem to matter.

And then it is an enigma as to why the bank isn't performing as well and why employees are demoralized as there are no true support system from the top.

At Truist, "Teammate Growth Month" refers to your waistline measurement.

Idk…everyone in my division been there 15-25 years..bad ideas get recycled over and over, endless meetings accomplishing nothing; most of these so called “opportunities”could be solved by 1-3 people instead of perpetual group think. Being busy attending meetings all day accomplishes nothing. Stop meeting, start working. I have not been here that long < less than 10 years and thankfully am near retirement, but cannot believe how little people get done. My manager is shocked how easily and fast I complete projects. I am no superstar, it is just the others are very unproductive. 80% of work gets done by 20% as always. And raises are a bad joke.

@cn is there a single leader at Truist that is in the top 1% of the area they lead? Nope. Self-inflated egos are only tolerated if you’re a terrible leader and su-k up to the operating counsel he-l-bent on tearing down the bank.

Billy Bob’s true purpose is to lift mediocre “leaders” to their highest level of incompetence. After all, that way he doesn’t have to answer any difficult questions.

Are you top 1% of your peers? Doubtful…people have self inflated egos.

BillyBob says:
Always treat whatever job you’re in at the moment as though it’s the most important job in the company. Step up with enthusiasm to every new opportunity. Be willing to go outside your comfort zone and learn new skills. Be prepared and execute with excellence.
