987 the students left on campus are the bottom of the bottom, it is sad, but I don't think Target will hire them either!

One thing that adds credence to this is the fact that the admissions people weren't let go. There's no reason to have them, yet if everyone's being let go soon, why add the aggravation of extra paperwork? Still, I think they're going to finish out the quarter -- fewer loans for the government to discharge.

While we won't know until it actualy happens, OP's scenario is very plausible. I am surprised it has not already happened. The only wild card here is that DOE desperately does NOT want to forgive the loans, and so will do what ever it takes to keep the company limping along via teach out until all/most current students have finisihed.

Why did they start the quarter?
Well, I'm not sure it will be by this weekend but, BK is clearly coming soon. Now that Everest and Wyotech do not have authority to operate here in CA due to BPPE suspending them, CCI, the owner of Heald, the OWNER of Heald, will have to file BK. They will not have any income being produced, other than the small amount being received from the Heald campuses. BK is going to happen, just not sure how soon.
